pretty good

I wore these out a few times snowboarding this year, the only time my hands got cold was a day where it was around 10F and in the negatives with wind chill. I usually wear them with a long sleeve shirt that has thumbholes while snowboarding and tuck them into my jacket to prevent snow getting up in there. I also wear them around daily to walk the dog . They are really good at keeping your hands dry as well, I have used them to make snowballs and play in the snow with no problems.

City Slicker review

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

Live in the Chicago area and this year have spent a lot of time outside in cold weather. These gloves keep my fingers nice an warm when walking dog, removing snow, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Size matters and I think they run a bit small. I feel that real aerobic exercise in these gloves will make your hands sweat a ton. BTW talk to who ever answers the phone about your needs and they will get you fixed up with the right gear for the right task :-)

Tame the Cobras

Well I didn't get a chance to wrangle any Cobras like the recommended use says, but I have worn them skiing. They certainly keep my hands warm. The leather is soft and smooth but feels tough as nails. I hate when my gloves shred from the edges of my ski's. I recommend these for sure.

Do these run small or true to size?

Way too small!!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Even the XL is tight and tight gloves are cold and useless!!

will these rip on a tow rope ?

will these rip on a tow rope ?

these will work for holding a rope but if you burn through gloves and want something more durable check out mountaineering gloves. they will stand up to a lot and keep the cold out.

best gloves for the price

warm, waterproof, low profile, awesome gloves, only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 is the wrist closure needs a better way to cinch down. Not a huge deal or anything, just more comfortable to me. Over-all, great gloves though.

Built to last

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Dakine has done it again with the Cobra Glove. This glove is great for most temps and the leather is super water resistant. The gortex also helps keep your hands dry. Rub a little bit of sno-seal on these babies and they will last you for a long while.

Large or X-Large?

If someone is wondering if they are a Large or X-Large, read my question for these gloves! I got the Large and am 100% satisfied. The gloves are just plain amazing. Warm and very maneuverable/comfortable.

Hello! I have a sizing issue with these...

Hello! I have a sizing issue with these gloves. According to dogfunk.com, they state that a 8.5 inch length from bottom of wrist to tip of middle finger is an XL. However, on dakine's website, they state that the 9.5-10.5 inch circumference of the palm signifies XL.

My problem is that my wrist to middle finger length is 8.5 inches (XL according to dogfunk), and my palm cirfumerence is 9 inches (L according to dakine.com).

I am torn between a large and an extra large. Which should I get?

Responded on

I've got the same problem. The large will fit perfect in length but if you make a fist it will feel a little tight, and good luck wearing liners. The XL will fit your fist but will be a little long in the digits. Not a huge deal for me.

Responded on

Thanks for the help ste. I ended up getting a pair of Large. Let's just say that if there were a size between Large and X-Large, it would be perfect! Large fits well, the finger length is just enough, and the palm is near perfect.

If you are even thinking about it, DO IT!

I am a snowboard instructor, and last year. I put over 100 days on these gloves and am still riding them this year. By far the warmest, toughest pair of gloves I've own. My roommate went through three pair, riding maybe once a week, before he was convinced to buy a pair; He will never go back.

If you are asking me if you should buy them... well, does Shawn White kill it in the pipe, but suck at slopestyle?

dope gloves

i have the older version of these, the mark abma ones, but they work really well. somehow they keep my hands at the perfect temperature during both spring and winter riding. if it's really cold ill throw some liners on underneath, but overall warm and really waterproof.

Will these last if they are being used...

Will these last if they are being used regularly on tow ropes?

Responded on

If by tow rope you mean no handle and it's just holding onto the metal braided rope....then you should buy a roll of duct tape. In my years no glove has held up to the metal braided tow rope...unless you use duct tape!!

Responded on

John- if I were you, I would get some of those leather rope tow guards. It's the only way to keep your nice gloves nice.

Not only will these gloves keep your hands superbly warm and dry, but they also can take some serious abuse!

Responded on

Do they stand up to abuse on tow ropes?
