Great shirt for water sports.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I use it for training when I sea kayak. Not heavy enough to make you sweat but keeps you warm and even comfortable when you get wet and are then back up in the weather.
Dakine Heavy Duty Rashguard
This product performed up to expectations. I am new to surfing and purchased for a trip to CR. After the first week of use, it has some minor picks and signs of wear, however, my skin is intact which it seems is the point. The weather was mid 80's and overcast for much of my time in the Pacific on this trip and this was the perfect amount of protection and insulation to stay out as long as I wanted. Has the loop to tie into your trunks as well which I found out was key. Have also used as base layer for some winter running / skiing since and it works well. Long term durability is the only thing I cannot offer an opinion on.
I'm glad I got this before my trip to Tahiti. I'm currently there and the weather has been kinda chilly and the water on the cooler side. Adding some wind to that and it would have been hard to stay more than an hour in the water when surf's up! It is my fourth day surfing and this rashguard has surprisingly been very useful.
I am pleased with the quality of this product and it came at an excellent price. I live near the beach and see shirts of a lesser quality on sale for more than I paid for this one. The sizing chart is spot on for a snug fit when dry. I got this in 7 days on the free shipping option which was better than anticipated. So, all around good experience.
