Great bag for travel

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Picked this bag up after my Burton one took a S**t. Took the Low Rider on a couple long trips and im very happy with it. roomy and has some tough zippers on it. Going on the second season with it and its looks new inside and out even after being thrown around the airports last season. Also have to mention the wheels on this thing are rugged they look like skateboard wheels. Easy rolling. Would highly recommend sizing up from your longest board for the extra space and always good to have some cushion between the board tips of the bag. I put my gear there keeps things nice and tight.

yes if you put it between the bindings.

you will have some extra in the bag for sure but you can always stuff your pants or jacket to take up some room and give extra padding.

Not wide enough to close with bindings easily

Overall it's a good bag just like any other bag, I've only used it on one trip, so I'm not sure how long the wheels, zipper and other parts will last.

CONS
It seems that it's not wide enough, my bindings are stretching the zipper and I have to force it in order for it to close properly.

PROS
It'll save you a few bucks and headaches when traveling since you're able to fit lots of gear in it: boots, pants, jackets, etc. (but most of the other bags do this as well) A roller bag is a must when traveling.

Perfect

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought the 165cm for a 152-154cm board which fits board, with bindings, boots, all clothes etc. It was delivered to Australia in less than 1 week! I am yet to test it out when travelling.

you will need to take off the bindings of at least one board to get everything to fit.

Da kine, bruddah, da kine

I got this for myself for my birthday and it was a great present!! Seriously so thoughtful of me because this bag is crazy good! I love the extra room and boot pocket because who travels with just their board? No one that's who! Overall great bag, couldn't be happier!

Air travel made easy

Traveled all over the country with this tough mudder. Not a single stitch loose yet. I got the black and found a couple others just like it when I landed in Park City (SLC). So those who shred, know DAKINE is the shit.

Great snowboard bag for traveling

I have had this bag for a couple years now, and it has been on quite a few planes and it still looks great. The fabric stands up really well to standard wear & tear that comes with traveling. The wheels make it so much easier to travel with compared to the bag I had before.

I bought this bag for a winter season that i spent in New Zealand. I was there for 6 months & this held everything I needed for snowboarding; board, boots, helmet, all my base layers, multiple sets of outerwear, and there was still room to shove other things in. I bought a 157, which works perfectly for my 143 board & all my gear. I wear size 6.5 boots and have put both boots in one boot pocket, using the other pocket for things I wanted to keep separate.

I have also used this bag for shorter trips, and there is so much room that for a week or weekend trip I can put everything I need in this bag, rather then taking this & a suitcase. (i'm a girl, so i think this is pretty impressive as i tend to over pack)

My roommate has borrowed my bag for a couple ski trips & she can fit 2 pairs of skis plus all her gear in the bag. (she just got her own bag b/c she loved mine)

I am so happy with this bag that I plan to buy the dakine split roller for future travels, to replace my broken suitcase. Another great thing about this bag is my grey & purple plaid snowboard bag stands out from all the black snowboard bags that are in the oversized baggage area.

Great gear!

Perfect bag for traveling!! The 165cm is perfect for a 157cm board (with binding) with room for boots, 5 tshirts, 3 pants, ski jacket, pants, and accessories.

pimp!!!

just got this bag in phantom 156, its flippin PIMP as hell. the neon green zippers and dark camo is totally sick! Price point is good too.
My 155 board and size 9 boots fits fine. the boots pockets are slightly snug..but its not a problem, if the boot doesn't fit, just push down on it with one hand and zip it up...so no biggie.
After my jacket and gear, the board definitely won't move around. I didn't want the 166 bag, then the bag is too big and board moves around inside the bag and will cause a rip. you want it to be snug fit with your board and gear.
The padding is not super thick, but seems like its enough to hold during air travel.
Its got a waterproof liner padding, so the outer layer doesn't get wet.

I'm looking for the 175, what size is the "one size" bag, it doesn't specify how large the bag is. Thank you

Would it be better to get the 165cm bag or stick with the 157cm?
