Ok product, but major flaw

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great gloves. Warm and do a great job of comfortably and easily protecting your wrist well.

2 problems here:
1. this ones a biggie. If you put a hard plastic piece with edges underneath a layer of fabric, and then fall repeatedly on that, the edge of the plastic will tear through the fabric. This was obvious to me the moment I took these out of the box and completely fail to see how the people at dakine expect these to last at all. My solution will be black shoe goo over the area asap, as after 3 days on the hill the wear is VERY evident. I imagine these would be torn to shreds within 10 days at this rate.

2. The cuff adjustment requires two hands. This is a glove. Seriously? my last burton gloves had a nice clever and easy cuff adjustment that could be operated with one hand. for these, I have to use my teeth. Seriously dakine, is this your first time making gloves?

Great Protection

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Pros: Multi-function, protects both top and bottom of your wrist, and fairly warm.

Cons: Stitching opened up the first time I put them on.

Regardless of the stitching opening up a bit, I wore it while boarding and it stayed warm throughout and had great protection on my wrists through numerous falls (first time snowboarding). The strap is vital in keeping the guards close to your wrists to protect it properly, so the width of the strap is perfect!
The only thing I found a bit irritating was that the fabric inside is not attached onto the exterior portion of the glove so if there's any moisture inside, it is awfully hard to take the glove off without pulling out inner fabric.
