Great for everything!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great pack for everything you need to carry camera wise. They have plenty of pockets that are adjustable. The inside of this bag also protects the crap out of your gear. I once saw a kid take a pretty sick head over feet tumble and all his equipment was safe when he stood up. Check out the interior! The exterior does not show how awesome this bag is!

Great for everything!

Perfect for Panasonic HPX170

This bag fits the Panasonic HPX170 perfectly. Plus it still has room for an Xtreme Fisheye Lens, rail support system, extra batteries, shovel, tripod, gloves, goggles, the works. Plus for traveling, it fits a 15" laptop no problem.
The weather bag it comes with is a nice feature, especially as this bag does not have weather-resistant zipper taping. Which is actually kind of nice since the zippers are easier to open one-handed this way. The padding is really well thought-out. It sits super comfortably on my back fully weighted. The waist and chest straps are key. Plus there's lots of little compartments to separate tools from more delicate items like hard drives and memory cards. I'm short, only 5'2" and was worried this bag would be too big, but it's not! It's designed very well. My husband has had older generation of this bag for about 3 years and it has held up to being man-punished. The Burton bag he had before it was not quite as tough and the zipper for the main camera compartment kept blowing out, so Dakine bags have just sort of been a bit more tried and true for us. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this bag if you want a tough bag that's going to fit all of your videocamera and snowboard gear.

Great travel tech equipment pack

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I just got back from a 1 month trip to New Zealand and Australia. I used this bag for all my electronics gadgets. It has a ton of space. There are so many separate compartments, I was able to store a SLR camera with a smaller telescope, laptop, iPad, several other small handheld cameras, adapters and voltage converters. I had around 30lbs total in this bag and we were on the go at least every few days. My bag has little signs of wear. I mainly wore it on the front to counter weight my travel backpack, which actually worked out perfect. The straps are adjustable enough where I was able to make it comfortable in any situation....front or back. The rain cover came in handy several times. There are three main compartments that you can get all the zippers close enough to use one lock on as well to deter theft. I stayed at a lot of hostels and luckily that was enough to not get my stuff stolen. Fully packed it fit in every overhead compartment in the planes we flew too (united, air pacific, tiger, qantas). The only airline I was worried about was qantas because they are super strict on weight limits and almost didn't let my bag as carry on. Luckily when they seen the equipment in there, they let me scoot by. All in all this bag has been amazing and protected all my equipment as it is pretty padded too. I may have looked like a little kid with an oversize backpack on the first day of school, but it exceeded all my expectations.
