Love my split roller!
Best bag around, looks great, super durable, and lots of space with good pockets!
love love love this bag.
not only is my luggage way cooler than everyone else's, but it's compact enough not to be cumbersome, and big enough to pack everything i need (including my dive gear) without ever having to rearrange anything or sit on it to get it closed. it's super tough, easily recognizable, and has lots of pockets, so you can keep things you don't want rolling around secure. the tensioning straps are great to minimize the size of the bag, or just keep it securely fastened if i need all the space it has to offer. i will never buy a boring old suitcase ever again!
rollin' in style
i love this bag. plain and simple. the quality is amazing, it looks hott and is durable. my suitcase busted when i was away so i bought the over/under and it was the balls. i saw this one and i could not resist! get a color u love and u will not be disappointed:) plus it has little hidden compartments, adds mystery...
This Dakine actually doesn't split. Just be warned of that, the title is deceiving.
I travel the world with this bag. The compartments inside make it so easy to pack and rolling it around in airports, cities, buses, trains, whatever is a breeze. You don't even notice the weight of your bag when moving it.

I am planning on using this bag for ski trips as well as vacations. I am wondering with it already being 10lbs how much more i can pack in it to hit the limit on the airplane. Anyone travel with this bag have problems with being over the weight limit or stress about packing?
Hey... something doesn't make sense.
Hey... something doesn't make sense.
30" x 14" x 13" = 5460cu in (90l) yet you list this bag as 4000cu in (65L)
The 2007 model was listed as 30 x 14 x 13 and 5500cu in.
So which is this bag? is it 4000cu in or 5500cu in?
Good observation, Dakine actually changed the way they measured volume 2007, it is now more accurate.

Write your question here...When separated, what do the two bags look like --- is one without wheels? Can that one be carried as a backpack? Also, when separated, can they be carried on as your two allowed pieces? Thanks
They split right down the middle so one will have wheels the other will not. No the seperate one does not have backpack straps. Also this bag is pretty big so even when the bag is split in two it is not really made for carry on. The split feature is made more to split the bag in two so you do not get hit with weight fees.
I took this bag around Europe for 3 weeks. I didn't bring any snowboard gear with me because it was strictly a work related trip. This was the only bag i needed. I fit about a dozen socks and boxers, 2 dozen t-shirts and long sleeve shirts, a few pairs of jeans and pants, 2 pairs of shoes and 3 hoodies. it was full...is that specific enough? I even had enough space to smuggle a few bottles of beer and schnapps back into the U.S.
The wheels are mega big and quiet. They look like little, off road tires. They held it together even on cobblestone streets. Caught a few compliments on the style of design (folsom).
Get the bigger one if you're gonna pack snowboard gear.

Does this bag have suitable places to accommodate skiboots? Does it have a vapor barrier for this?
They'll certainly fit (90L is huge), but it's not designed to accommodate them. Let them dry first.
Great bag - used it for 3 years
Holds a ton of stuff ... and my ski boots and helmet fit easily in the larger half. (It splits into two bags ... in case you are overweight and need to solve that problem quickly.) Also very durable.
A buddy of mine had one and we went on a ski trip and it didn't take long to realize that my standard roller bag was super lame compared to this thing. Not only does Dakine have the sickest designs on the outside, the compartments are super sweet and help you stay organized on the inside. I wear a size 13 shoe and I can fit one pair comfortably and up to 1.5 pairs in the smaller pockets on the top half(inside). I had a hard time deciding between the 90L and the 120L. I came to this conclusion. 90L can pack a little over 50lbs of clothing which gets you close to the standard limit on an airline. But with today's airline economy, you might just get the 120L since you have to pay to check it anyways and have enough space to practically fit your whole closet into it! Either way you go, these bags are so sweet and people in the airports look at them probably wishing they had one!
One more thing...
P.S. This bag won't fit into an overhead compartment.
