Description

Titanic hand protection for winter voyages.

The DAKINE Titan brings a feature set appropriate for gloves twice the price. Behind the Titan’s Weathershield shell and RubberTec palm, a Gore-Tex waterproof breathable insert protects the Thermoloft synthetic insulation from melting snow and ice. A removable, washable stretch fleece liner amps up warmth in extreme cold, and a chamois goggle wipe stashed in the zip compartment on the back of the hand keeps your vision crystal clear.

Good gloves

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It works and did keep my hands warm and dry. However, for anything below 0, i would still recommend a mitten. Not sure if it is a good idea to use the goggle wipe since it seems a little stiff (gets stiffer under colder conditions) and might scratch the goggles. Having a handwarmer pocket is always a pro, especially as the temperature drops to lower 10s. The liner adds warmth, but not a whole lot. However, it is quite handy for usage under milder conditions.

Great gloves for the money

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got these on sale and find it hard to believe I could have gotten a better glove for the money. Only complaint is its a little hard to grab things in these gloves a little bulky. However I have only warn them about half dozen times skiing so they may break in and get a little easier. Still a good glove and a good buy!

Will you be getting any more sizes in?...

Will you be getting any more sizes in? Looking for an XL. Thanks!

It doesn't look like any are on order at the moment, but our inventory is constantly being updated, so keep checking back on the site. It's always possible that we'll get more XL's in stock!

Good but defective

I loved these gloves for the most part until my right glove began to fall apart after only 5 days on the mountain. The inner seam came apart and continued to tear every time I put on or removed the gloves. I think I just got a bad glove because the left hand held up well. Other than that.....my hands always stayed dry and warm. I still give a 3/5 because they are great gloves I just got a lemon pair.

Good gloves

I replaced an old pair of Drop gloves with these. I like the features (wrist cinch, drawstring close, handwarmer pocket and Goretex), but the included glove liners create a problem. If you purchase the glove to fit your hand, the glove liners will make them too tight. If you purchase the glove to fit with the liners, the gloves will be too loose without the liners. I decided on the correct size without the liners and plan to purchase a thin liner if I need it. But, honestly, I like the gloves a lot even without the liners.

great gloves

Just took these up mt Washington worked like a charm the liners are warm and have great mobility. the shells where warm as well didnt need the liner with them at all. It was a bit of a tight fit with the shell and liner when I tried them on but the shell is warm enough as is. Had no problem with water wile climbing up or sliding down them mountain.

A very happy skier...

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I bought these gloves as a Christmas gift for my brother in law and he loves the gloves, and is very pleased with the gift. I do not know much of ski gloves, but read a few online reviews and they had real good things to say about these gloves. I am happy I was able to find them on backcountry.com and at a great price. Overall, I have a very happy brother in law...

Only glove you'll ever use!

I found a pair of these on clearance and grabbed them as a back up pair to my Drop Auxilary II GTX last season. I just got a chance to bust them out on the slopes and I was blown away! I LOVE the fleece liner glove because it fits snug and breathes nicely while the bulkier outer gauntlet glove keeps the snow out. These gloves aren't just comfy, but warm AND dry. They're also easy to fuss with buckles and zippers while they're on and cinch nicely into place with gloved hands. I plan on using these as my primary gloves from now on and keeping my Drop's on reserve. I like them so much that I just ordered a pair of the female equivalent to the Titan (the Sequoia) for my gf.

Goretex kept me dry and warm

  • Gender: Male

In combination with the inner liners, this glove does the trick. Good buy at sale price.

Warning though, using the inner liners alone during winter days in the city may not be enough. Wool gloves would be better.

Restricts Circulation to Fingertips

I purchased these gloves to keep my hands toasty in 0F-35F weather. The inserts restricted circulation to my fingertips and made them chilly in 30F weather. Gloves were actually warmer in a side to side comparison without using the insert.

They look like a good fit for my needs, I'm just wondering about the back zipper... I have poor circulation, so I usually use these little back pockets to hold a hand warmer on the back of each hand. Does each glove have the zippered pocket, or just the right?

Thanks!

Both hands have the zipper pocket

Warranty

  • Gender: Male

I just recieved the gloves, but I noticed the tag states there is a two year warranty, not a "lifetime warranty" as backcountry.com states. I was concerned about the fit, but the extra large fits like a glove. (pun intended)

Responded on

Airborne, the 2 year warranty is probably referring to Dakine's own two year warranty. The lifetime warranty is directly from backcountry.com

How large are your hands. I am 6-8 and have extremely large hands. I need gloves to fit in the fingers. Can you comment

Responded on

PFD, I have big hands... long fingers. I've used the gloves three times in the snow now, twice skiing and once sledding. When sledding I didn't use the liners and my hands were perfectly warm. (prob. around minus 5 C.) The fit is comfortable and the "snot wipe" actually works really well. I love these gloves. (My hands aren't bulky or chubby, but I have long fingers and a wide spread) I'm about 9.5 inches from the tip of my thumb to the tip of my pinkie when my hand is spread.

Great gloves, super warm with or without the liner. The goggle wipe feature is awesome! I would recommend these to everyone. The sizing seems like it lines up with any other glove I've ever bought.

Nice Gloves

Great pair of gloves, but as some other reviewers noted they run a bit small when used with the provided liner glove. I switched out the Dakine liner with a pair of light weight running gloves and found the fit to be very close to size. The Dakine liners are now my warm weather ski gloves.

Excellent choice

These gloves are great. Removable liners are a huge bonus. I don't use them at the mountain because I only need the main glove for warmth, even on the coldest days. I use the liners when I'm off the mountain and need a little hand warmth.

I read a lot of reviews saying that the size chart for the gloves was a bit off. I bought a large pair of gloves and they are definitely too big but it is fine with me. I have had them for a couple weeks now and the outside seems to be made of nice tough material that will last well over 100 days on the mountain.

I wanted a glove that was warm, affordable, and tough and Dakine definitely delivers with this product. I would recommend it to anyone. As a side note...they are also pretty cool.

bad ass...

when i first got these i didn't think they would be warm because they are so light. boy was i surprised.. used them in deep pow conditions having to dig myself out several times.. no snow entered my gloves, and my hands were warm and dry the whole time.. did not use the inserts.

Favorite pair of gloves for harsh weather conditions

These gloves really are completely waterproof. Submerged them in a glacier pool and came out bone dry. They're also really warm. The only drawback is that they're a bit bulky.
