Easy, steezy, boot-iful.

If comfort and convenience are your number-one priorities when you're looking for a boot, then the DC Men's Avaris Speedlace Snowboard Boot is the one for you. The Single Line lacing system makes it quick and easy to get in and out of the boot, and its lightweight feel and heat-moldable liner ensure all-day comfort.

Get your boots perfectly tightened with a quick pull of the Single Line speedlace cord and you're ready to ride. The Red liner is heat-moldable for a comfy custom fit and the EVA footbed cushions harsh impacts and absorbs vibrations for a smooth ride. Unilite replaces rubber in the outsole to shave weight and improve rebound without sacrificing durability or traction.

Didn't work out

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The lace stopper broke on my second run. I seem to be tough on boots as I broke the new Dual Boas on day 1 as well. Even if it is me being too rough on my equipment it should take much more than that to kill them. I am now returning them.

Wanted to love them

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Let me say first of all that I bought these boots to wear as a Lift Operator during my shifts. Right out of the box these things were comfy! They have a medium flex- to me it felt more like a medium-soft flex since I typically hit hard-carving steeps- and are extremely comfortable and warm, even in sub-degree weather. The speed lace that DC uses is rather intuitive; tighten the inserts- which you can wear by themselves on your drive up- release the quick-pull clamp, and yank the cord. This means that I can pull my boots on/off near my car in less than a minute. Also great for running out of the way of incoming chairs!
Now for the bad:
These boots seem to run a hair large. I wear a size 10 and would recommend going down at least a half size- not a big deal. My gripes arrive in terms of quality. Just looking at my boots after a few days work/riding, I can't imagine that the shell would last more than a season or two. Before I even got that far, however, the clasp for the quick pull flew off and I couldn't find it. Not good when you're riding a cambered board around a bunch of novices. I'm really hoping that I just got a lemming and this isn't a typical problem with DC boots. For now I'm going back to traditional laces. More work but a lot more secure in my opinion and less to go wrong. For now I'm back to some 32 Lashed boots. A bit more stiff and they seem to hold up a lot better too.
