The anywhere, anytime, any-condition technical shell.
DC's top dog—the Men's Bipolar 3L Jacket—takes mountain tech to new heights with ultra-high performance designed to exceed the expectations of the most demanding riders. Lightweight, 3-layer polyester provides optimum stretch and durability for a season's worth of hikes, descents, senders, pipes, and rails. Exotex 20k/20k waterproofing and fully taped seams tame Northwest mash potatoes, Eastern ice and everything in between—making any resort your home resort.
Packed into the minimalist design of the Bipolar jacket are DC's latest weather defying innovations. Cross Ventilation Technology gives you the heat exhausting power of cross winds by placing mesh gusseted zip-vents on the front and back of the underarm, expelling humid air and regulating your temperature. The Respirator Breathing System in the collar forms clear breathing paths that makes taking a deep breath—even with the 3-way adjustable hood up—unrestricted and smooth, and lets your exhalations escape without fogging up your goggles. The Lycra head gaiter and wrist gaiters along with the removable powder skirt seal out the elements when the conditions get sketchy and hide away on clear sky resort days. The Bipolar technical shell is ready to go anywhere, anytime, and in any conditions.

Love the fabric!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
This jacket is great. Wrist gaiters for me a are a must so I loved that feature. It also comes with a lightweight balaclava which attached to the inside of the jacket so it stays down. The jacket is waterproof, breathes well enough for some resort side-country (too heavy for back-country riding though), and the pit zips also help with breathability. My favorite part about this jacket though is the fabric. It totally waterproof and quite breathable while retaining a tad bit of stretch. This is great for double-diamond runs or those crazy lines when you really need the mobility from your jacket. On top of that, plenty of pockets for storage. As a reference, I'm 6' and like a slimmer fitting jacket and the small was great. DC jackets run a bit big in my experience.
Overall: great resort jacket that's also breathable.
