Straightforward yet relaxed.
A team favorite, the DC Men's Donon 14 Insulated Pant provides the relaxed, loose fit you're looking for while keeping you dry, insulated, and comfortable. Its 10K-rated fabric and taped critical seams help shield you from the wet during a snowstorm while the Donon's 40g synthetic insulation boosts leg warmth while you wait in chilly lift lines.
The Donon's relaxed fit offers a looser, team rider-approved fit that guarantees maximum mobility and ample sag while its shant control feature uses a special drawstring on the pants' interior to shorten your pant-leg cuffs and keep them from dragging and getting trashed while you tromp through the parking lot. Mesh-lined vents ditch excess heat when you build a kicker in the backcountry or ride nonstop top-to-bottom runs while an attached boxer band waist keeps the snow out and away from your body. Boot gaiters, snapped hem boot gussets, and boot lace hooks keep your pants secure and prevent snow from creeping up your legs when you ride.

Im 5'9" 160lbs waist around 33 and wear impact shorts, I like baggy pants but not super baggy should I go large or xl.
I would go with the L, the waist size should accommodate your impact shorts but not be super baggy.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Got these pants a few weeks ago. One thing I first noticed when I took them out, they are soft! They handle the Minnesota wind chill winters very well. Love the vents on the inside legs. No problems at all. The bottom of the snow pants also hold up well even while they've been dragging through the snow while snowboarding. Well made DC, Well made...
