Love the dual boa system, allows for very custom fit top from bottom. Liner in the boot is too thin allowing inner plastics to poke through creating hot spots. Boa allows you to back it off just enough so there is minimal pain, but can't wear tight.
Ride boot's have intuition liners, and Salomon's are plush out of the box. Love the Boa's on the Judge just hate the low budget liner. I ordered an intuition liner and will replace...almost have a Ride Insano Boot.
I've had them for one season and am pretty impressed. I felt like I was taking a gamble with the boa lacing system, But after the first use I was sold. Takes 1/2 the time to put on then the standard boots and don't loosen up during the day. The size fits pretty true. Once they packed in they felt great. Very confortable. I like the amount of flex i get out of them, not to much not to little. I ride from glades to open trail with all around comfort. Solid!
good but big
They fit true to size but they are big! I wear a size 14 and these are like a size 15 or 16 on the board. They are nice when I donât want a tight stiff boot though. Good for when you want a boot that is a more relaxed fit than something like the Driver X.
I forgot to mention Backcountry is by far the best online dealer for gear. Dont shop anywhere else. The customer service is great and is the best ive ever experienced, the shipping is fast...the list of good stuff just goes on and on.
The DC Judge is a well crafted snowboard boot. The materials are durable and the appearance/style is clean but provides attention to details in design. The fit is great for any guy with wide feet looking for a boot that fits amazing right out the box and gets even better after about 10 riding hours when the liner forms to your foot for an even truer fit. The boot is pretty light weight in comparison to previous boots I have owned. It provides a medium flex not just based on how DC lists the boot but my personal opinion as well. I like to work and feel the turns when Iâm riding but still have support and this boot gives you that opportunity. If you like a stiff boots that does most of the work for you then I wouldnât recommend this boot to you. The sole is super grippy on the snow and ice and great on the binding foot bed when snow/ice buildup starts chunking up in the binding. At first glance the liner seems rather flimsy and thin but turns out to be great, comfortable and easily adjustable for the upper strap and the pull cord around the ankleâ¦not to mention the excellent heel hold system that this boot provides. Lastly, the Boa Focus system is just sickâ¦easily adjustable without having to pull pant leg up, pop out the dials when walking around for more comfort and can be fine tuned so quick to however you like the top or bottom boot tightness. I highly recommend these!!!!
Not so good
I have used these boots about 4 times and I had to go buy some new ones. These things hurt my feet so bad the last time I had them on I had to stop boarding cause I couldnt feel my feet.
Godsends for those anal about boot fitment
I'm one of those guys that must have my boots on PERFECTLY. If they loosen up during the day, I must sit down and readjust in the middle of the run.
Because of that I really appreciate how these boots work. They're really comfortable boots, with just enough cushioning. They're pretty lightweight and are warm enough for any day. If you keep your gaiters from covering the dials you can adjust them in seconds, any time during the day.
When I'm not strapped in, I like to undo the top half of my boots. It lets me walk around a lot easier. And once I am ready to strap in again, It takes me seconds to tighten them back up for the ride.
My friends are all jealous.
By far the most comfortable boots I've owned..
These Boots are top notch.. Not only are they super comfortable, but surprisingly light and Warm.
The Boa system works very well.. but do note that the internal "sock liner" is a traditional lace quick pull system; the boa controls the upper and lower boot tensions.
I would absolutely recommend these to anyone in the market for a new boot.. and you can't beat the price.
Great boots, didn't last
My lace loops got torn out after about 10 days. And the wire laces cut into the tongue of the boot too. Even if the lace loops didn't pull out, the boot's days were numbered.
Back to 32 boots for me.
This is a great boot and is extremely. comfortable. it is a little stiff but is a great boot all around. the double boa is great for getting the perfect fit and i have not had any problems on it yet
Very comfy if you have wide feet like mine
I dont own these boots but i was interested in them so i tried them on at a local board shop in Big Bear. The BOA fusion system was excellent. very easy to fine tune the bottom and top of the boot. I like my boot super tight for max control on the mountain. my feet loved these boots but unfortunately they were not as stiff as i would have liked. they seem like park boots, i am a park rat myself but i weigh 220 lbs and i prefer a stiff boot for good ankle support and control even though i spend most of my day in the park. I feel that a boot should feel like a snowboard boot and not like a soft skate shoe. if you are on the lighter side then try these boots, you may like them because you wont be putting as weight on them like i was. Super comfy if you have wide size 13's like me, BOA fusion really gets as tight you want it without cutting off circulation in your fingers like when tightening traditional lacing systems early in the morning, just not stiff as i would have liked. My Burton tributes are my go to's until i find something else. These didn't seem to run small like others have commented. My shoe is a 13 and this boot in a 13 fit perfectly.
can you get them tight around your shin....
can you get them tight around your shin. I have problems getting my boots tight around the shin so im not quite as responsive as i would like to be
You can get them pretty tight, go with a Lace Up boot if you are having problems with shins.
2009 DC Judge boots
I used to ride the DC Torch boots and this year went out shopping determined to find something better. someone showed me these boots and I kinda sneered at them at first thinking they were just like the Torch, so I spent hours trying on other brands. Eventually i caved and decided to try the DC Judge on. It took all of 30 seconds to realize that these are the perfect boots. They fit my feet perfectly, had the right stiffness, and had the dual boa system which i love and swear by. I tuck my gaiters into the boot but outside the inner boot and that makes it really easy to adjust the boa system (even though it is still possible to do it through the gaiter)
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've owned DC's for nine years. My first ones were Revolution model with pumps. Those were great except the liner was hurting my shins after a long day. (I have an injury where my shins gets easily hurt) The new Judges are incredible! They're super soft on the inside and medium stiff on the outside. Perfect combination for me. The only thing I found out is that they usually run a size smaller, at least for me. I usually wear size 11, so I had to get 12 after 11 was a bit too snug for me. After a while the heel lift on one of them started to happen. Other than that I can't praise these enough! Get a pair, I promise you won't regret it!
Have only taken them out a few times, but I am happier each time I take them out. I got them for the boa feature because I hated trying to get my old boots to stay as tight as I wanted. These are great because I can tighten them without even lifting the gaiters on my pants! So simple... The comfort is great. First day was a little stiff, but now that they are broke in a little, they are great. I checked sizing at a local shop before I got them. I like my toes to just barely touch the ends of the liner and to have this ORDER TRUE TO SIZE. That is my experience anyway. I wear a 12 shoe and 12 in these fits perfectly, especially after a few days of packing out. I look forward to more great days in these boots!
OMG! Best boot ever.
Oki, I have ridden on the same boot for 6 years. Vans Garo. Damn good boots! Anyways...I tried on the alliance and 10.5 was perfect so I took a shot and order the judge due to the medium flex, good for park and steep. And they are actually a medium + stiff. When I first tried on these bad boys I fell in love. A new favorite boot. These have it all. Shock Absorbers, molding innerboot(you actually feel the boot mold if you walk around with them for 30 mins or so) And the boa system work smooth. Pluss best of all maybe, besides the overhuman air jordan like feel these boots have...NO HEELSLIP! Yes, they are the best boot ever.
forgot to say, BC.com has the fastest shipping, best costumer service(love the chat function) and good prices. I buy all my shit and gear off this page.
Get more skate shoes and skateboards. And this site will rule all the others.
my review on these boots is honestly they are a perfect 10 on 10 never have had a more comfy boot on my foot if your looking for the perfect boot these are it an the sizing is normal on them i dont find you need to go up in size at all
Is this boot primarly an all mountain boot...
Is this boot primarly an all mountain boot or Freestyle?
Due to its medium flex, it would be more of an all mountain boot.
