Plagued with too much space around your foot and not enough at your leg? Maybe it's the other way around and you have a skinny leg and wide foot. The DC Men's Judge Snowboard Boot found other boots guilty of being incapable of giving the option to tighten the upper and lower zones separately. Then the Judge sentenced the inferior foot-killers to death and used the cables to execute those boots the old fashioned way; hangin'.
Boa Focus dual-zone cable system gives you the ability to separately tighten/loosen the upper and lower zones for the most 'dialed-in' fit
Bravo liner features the Outlast heat-regulating lining underfoot, ankle-holding J-bars, anatomical support beams, and a power strap for superior performance and comfort
Internal ankle harness wraps the liner to locks your foot and ankle to the boot for the most precise response
Articulated cuff allows unrestricted flex without the boot 'bulging' at the hinge creating excess space around your ankle
Welded backstay of shell saves your leg when you land in the backseat and won't wash-out when you hit the gas and go fast
Unilite outsole is a soft rubber, low-profile design for maximum cushion for killing it all over the mountain
Bottom Line: The Judge is jury, executioner, and bringer of comfort back to snowboarding.
I bought the Judge in 2010 and have finally had 4 days in them at Perisher (Aus). They are the 1st pair of boots i have owned.
These are very light, and very comfy. I wouldn't say they are very warm as i have only ridden them in fairly good weather but thats not the purpose of the boot anyway. They do seem to Get a bit wet in powder. Seem to flex enough in the park but stiff enough on the mountain the flex rating of 7 seems accurate.
They were comfortable straight off the bat and the boa system rocks. Im not so keen on the inner though and they can be a bit hard to get on and off.
Saying all this I would certainly recommend them to anyone, they look sick too.
Can the cables be replaced if they wear out? Has anyone had to do this? I usually wear a 10.5 shoe. Is that the size boot I should get? Other reviewers are saying 1/2 size smaller.
All of the boa system compents are replacable and new boots usually come with an extra cable. I wear a dc 12 skate shoe and my boots are an 11. dogfunk as a great exchange policy so if they don't fit get a different size.

I got the 2010 Judges at the end of last season and have a full season in them now. They took quite a while to break in all the way, but now they're awesome! Only complaint is that it seems like the boa cables are wearing out already, but I'll just have to see how long they'll last.
The DC Judge is a little bit stiffer boot than the Nitro Anthem. the DC offers quick boot adjustment with the boa system. the nitro quick lace is not as easliy adjustable but still solid.
i got the 2010 model (only difference is colors) and they are by far the best boot these feet have ever stepped into. I am an 11.5 in skate shoes, so i ordered that size. my big toe barely touched the edge so i had to wear em around the house for a few days. Once i hit the snow, these babies were primed. now my toes dont touch the end of the boot whatsoever. i used these in a mixture of freeriding and mountain riding, didnt matter, it was comfy regardless. hitting jumps didnt hurt my feet like it use to. and with the double boa system i could really secure my feet in the boot. it also features padding for your achilles, which truly makes a huge difference in comfort. After the second day of boarding my feet felt fresh as a daisy, while my riding buddies couldnt say the same.
downside - the stitching near the toe is susceptible to the edge of your board, so be careful where you rest your board on the lift. while it tore up the "leather" near the toe. its very durable and doesnt seem to be problematic structurally.Overall, these boots are worth double. the level of comfort is insurmountable. A+. def
You must wear a very large shoe. I roll with 11's and downsized to a 10.5 and I'm gunna test um out. if they pack out 1/2 a size then they should fit super nice since they are already snug.
I normally wear size 10 but I got a 9.5 in the judges. They took a long time to break in and were uncomfortable for the first half dozen days, but now they're perfect!
I was a big fan of the boa system until I bought these boots. The lower boas locked up on me 3 times this season. Nothing worse than after a great powder session than having to painfully pry your foot out of your boot followed by the subsequent trip to the ski shop to get your boot restrung.
I had the same problem then figured the boa system is just like a winch. it needs tension (just a little) on it as it is being tightened or it will kink.
So far I love these boots. They're low profile, light, and stiff. The dual BOA is great. They're comfortable. I wear 11 in many shoes and the fit is usually pretty snug. The same is true for the 11 Judge. Just tight enough.
I really liked these boots. Unfortunately because of a motorcycle accident I broke my left foot and that caused my ankle to over-pronate, every time I would walk it would cause a really bad pressure point on my ankle. I realized it wasn't the boots, because the right foot was perfect.I'm a 10.5 and I bought them in a 10.5 the fit was true. Stiff, but still good flex. I ended up returning them and getting the Burton Ambush, which resolved my ankle issue.
