Judge, jury, and big-mountain executioner.
Court is in session and you want the DC Judge Boot on your side. A fairly stiff boot built to give you the support you need in the backcountry, the Judge features the Boa H3 Coiler closure system to provide unmatched heel hold and fit. So whether you're sending booters or charging hairy lines, the Judge will rule in your favor.
The Boa H3 Coiler system features two Boa dials to allows you to independently adjust the tightness of the upper and lower zones of the boot so you can get it just the way you like it. Stay comfy throughout the day in the Black liner, which features anatomical J-bars to keep your heel locked down, heat-moldable EVA foam for a custom fit, and an Impact G heel cushion to absorb shock from harsh impacts. The Aerotech ventilation system uses integrated vents in the liner and shell to transfer moisture away from your foot so it stays dry and warm. Lightweight Unilite material in the outsole shaves weight and increases rebound, while strategically placed rubber increases durability in high wear areas.

How do DC boots size? If I wear a size 10 should I get a size 10 or go a half size bigger or smaller?
I would size up a half size to allow some room for the liner. It will pack out when you wear them so don't be too quick to think they are too tight. As long as your toes are flat in the boot they should feel a little tight right out of the box.

Can you compare this years Judge to the 09-10 season boots?
I bought another pair 12-13 and didn't like the changes. felt much wider in the last and lower quality liner\foot bed.
Are the liners still Outlast bravo?
I honestly couldn't compare these with the 09/10 model, but these have the DC Black liner in them (the highest quality/performance) from this year, check out the video I just posted above. They also have Remind insoles with their "blue magic" foam to absorb impact.
BOA needs quality control.
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
I had the old JUDGES from a couple seasons back. Love them , I used them till I destroyed them so of course I wanted to get the updated ones. I ordered one pair and came with a bad BOA system, the side one on the right boot. of course dogfunk is best place to buy so without questions they sent a new pair. Now on this one both boots the side boa didn't work. Pitty I really wanted to shred with them in Jackson hole.
Great light-duty backcountry boot!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This is my second pair of Da Judge and I love them. My first pair lasted 4 seasons (20 days a year) and one season as a full time instructor and avid backcountry rider in Jackson Hole, Wy. My new pair is lighter , better venelated and looks awesome. The seam construction is a bit lighter than my originals and I think DC may have substituted weight for durability a bit on this model (i'll give em the benefit of the doubt here) and one cosmetic rubber piece came unglued already (10 days in) but its was an easy fix.
The boot rides really stiff and responsive in the most extreme circumstances when fully cinched and if I want more flow I just loosen the upper boa a bit; it's like having two boots in one!
Props to DC for keeping up The Judge; he had truely ruled in my favor!

Okay but not great
For 300, the older style boot DC made with a true articulated cuff and plastic guides that hold the boa wires in place made for a much more comfy boot. Feels like someone cut some corners.
Simply the Best
This will get a very similar review to my review on the 32 Focus Boa. They are very similar but I found this boot just a cut above those.
I rode in my brother-in-law's Judges a bit before I bought the 32s.
As with my 32s, I love the boa system. These boots are also excellent from the standpoint that they can be adjusted thru the two different boa areas. You can tighten just the ankle or just the foot or both. This makes the boot very versatile for the park where you may want more flex or for the BC if you want more support and response. The boa system holds very well and doesn't loosen throughout the day. These boots are just a little bit stiffer to me than the 32s.
These boots hold their temperature quite well but don't have your feet feeling like they sat in a sauna all day.
I wear a 9 1/2 (US)shoe and wore a 10 (US) in these. They were super comfy. I would've bought these had I not got a sick deal on the 32s.
You cannot buy a better boot than these monsters!
