How true to size are these? I usually wear 34, but on the last ones (Billabong) these were not too comfortable, wearable still, but a little too tight on the waist

DC runs pretty true to size. I usually wear a 32 in everything, and with these they are no exception. Billabong and quicksilver usually run a little tighter than other companies. Dont know why this is, but they just do. So yes go for whatever size you usually wear and they should be fine. Hope this helped man
