For the money, these boots are tough to beat. The boa wheel is a lot more convenient than laces. It took me a couple of attempts to get the settings right, but once I did I had a lot less foot fatigue. They're very flexy, which is great for beginners. In terms of sizing, I would say they run a little on the small side. Very happy with them!
Great for beginners
I have only been boarding for the past 3 years and I have had 2 pairs of boots, these are the second pair and they are awesome!! Don't even compare to the vans that I had before hand.
Definitely great for a beginner!!
Great starter boot
I started with these boots, and DC has thrown out a warm, comfortable boa boot that is priced for starters. The boa system makes for quick and easy adjusting. I have really wide feet as well and the Scouts fit true to size! Especially if you're on a tight penny, I highly recommend these DC's!
BOA workin' fine
Fits perfect in the heal to toe direction. Seems like the heal picks up a little when going toe side. The BOA wires are shorter than older models which is an advantage...older ones had some much wire it took forever to lace them up.

Yes, DC runs a little wide.

I just recently purchased theses boots and I love them but I was wondering if you could also purchase the piece that detaches and reattaches to tighten and loosen the boot. Just incase I wipe out that goes flying off I can still get the boot off and or retighten it.
