DC Spectrum Softshell Jacket - Men's - 2011

Shell jackets might be great over a light shirt when temps are moderate or over heavy layers on colder days. Heavy, insulated jackets provide great warmth when you truly need the extra bulk. The DC Men's Spectrum Softshell Jacket is what we consider the triple rainbow of snowboard outerwear because it looks like a hoody, protects like a shell, and provides a touch of insulation when the cold kicks in.

  • Breathable Exotex material repels wet snow but still allows excess heat and moisture vapor to escape
  • Structured mesh venting at the underarms holds open even as you move to dump heat and draw in cool air
  • Stowable waist gaiter features jacket-to-pant interface to keep the jacket from riding up
  • Wrist gaiters and removable head gaiter further seal out air and snow for maximum cold weather comfort
  • Thumb holes on the ribbed cuffs keep sleeves from riding up

Bottom Line: Witness that hoody-on-riding-jacket fantasy form before your very eyes.

I'm 6 foot, 165 pounds. however my legs are longer than my torso, will a medium fit me aswell? my torso is 31 inches long to my waist, legs are 41 inches long. My chest size is approximatly 40-42 inches.

I have a Large 686 jacket that is rather bulky on me. Are the sizings similar?

A medium will fit you well, with room to grow.

sizing is large with long fit

After returning a size small westbeach softshell for being too small I ordered camo DC in medium. I'm 5'6 with broad shoulders so this is the long gangster fit on me but not overly baggy in the torso & looking bit more jacket than hoody but still has hoody styling with the pocket details & ribbed cuffs. actually the pocket trim is ballistic nylon so very robust & hard wearing as is the rest of the jacket.

Pretty Sick

By:
February 29, 2012

I just got mine in the mail after returning two other jackets. This one fits perfect its snug around the pocket areas and not too baggy long/fat. Looks pretty sick. I'm 5'10ish and 155lb and got a medium. It will most definitely need another layer underneath it for really cold days. But should be fine in the 20+ days. Overall its badass.
1 con though is that the media pocket is in the right external hand pocket but it works fine.

All around great Jacket

By:
December 30, 2011

I have used this jacket for warm weather snowboarding, cold weather snowboarding, going to the bar, going to the store, whatever. Love the look of it while having all the great properties of a nice soft shell. The hood is tight for a helmet, at least my Smith Vantage in L/XL. And I do wish it hand one internal pocket. Other than that, great buy!
