Built for charging.
Travis Rice's signature style consists of insanely technical tricks on pucker-inducing setups, so DC built the Travis Rice Boa snowboard boot to back him up when he needs it most. Whether it's on a sketchy, full speed run in, or a whooped-out powder landing, the stiff flex and dual zone Boa closure provide all the support you need to stick the move. But these aren't an overly stiff ski boot either, thanks to the articulated cuff, which yields a natural flex for tweaked grabs and locked in presses. The full grain leather shell holds up to seasons of abuse, especially with the SuperFabric toe cover, which resists even the sharpest edges way longer than your standard boots. Aerotech venting keeps your feet from overheating, without sacrificing warmth on those frigid days. Plus, there's Remind brand insoles. They're the same comfortable, heel-bruise stopping insoles that have taken skateboarding by storm, so you won't need to upgrade to maximize your comfort. They're good enough for Travis, so you already know they'll hold up to the hardest-charging mortals among us.
- Boa dual zone closure

Bad quality control on sizing :(
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Ordered both size 7.5 and size 8 boots but had to return them. I usually wear and size 7.5 shoe and from reading the reviews about them fitting shorter I also got the 8. When trying them on, the size 7.5 boot fit great on my left boot but seemed very "short" on the right. This was surprising since my left foot is longer. Upon taking out the liners, the right liner was shorter even though the liners were both marked 7.5! It looked like a size 7 liner in comparisons. I compared the liners of the size 8 boots and at least those matched lengthwise. Unfortunately, the 8 boots were a little large in the heelcup.
Other than that the boots are lightweight and show really nice build quality. It would've been perfect for my style of riding. Not sure if this was just a liner mismatch or if a whole batch of them were bad (size 7.5 is a new size this year as last year's DC Status didn't have a 7.5) Hopefully I can find another pair in 7.5 that actually fit.
Pretty pimp thus far

I just rode my first two days on these boots. First of all, they fit nice right out of the box. I read a good number of reviews for various DC models prior to purchase, and many mentioned a nice tight fit especially around the achilles. I agree with that observation. The footbeds, the premium leather lining along the back of the inside and the SuperFabric are very nice upgrades that are immediately noticeable. I feel like the front of the boot will never rip with that material on them. The footbeds, leather and cushioning combine for excellent comfort. I'm not quite sure what has been said about the ankle support, but this is a stiff boot. I am a freerider that rarely goes near the park. I am looking to charge lines, and these are the boots to do it. I had no issues with support whatsoever. The lower boa needs adjustment after your first run or two as a result of the additional pressure, but a simple fix (turn boa). Additionally, I had no sizing issues either. I wear a size 9 athletic shoe, but I size .5 down for snowboarding boots. No issues at all from a size standpoint.
My only complaint is that the upper wrapping buckles a little when you tighten the top boa section tightly. It creates a crinkle on the bottom edge of the upper wrap that goes around your calf down to your ankle. The crinkle occurs at the bottom of that section, right where your ankle is located. Perhaps a result of the articulating cuff design? There is no pain and it does not hinder your riding, but it seems odd. Maybe, I am just being overly critical of the aesthetics. They are $400 though. That said, I would recommend this product.
2 days of riding, east coast USA, variable conditions - man made/machine groomed snow.
Setup: Rome Mod (trad camber) with Ride Maestro (canted footbed) bindings.
i saw one of the comments on here about...
i saw one of the comments on here about the lack of support for the ankle and around that area with these boots. i know thats just one opinion but if it comes to find out i purchase these boots and i end up having that problem, what are the steps on returning the boots or is that even possible? i really like these boots and wondered if theyre truly worth the buy all in all..?
Alright bro, so dogfunk does have a return process, the link for which is found at the top of the website. But I want to save you time and money. The best way you will know how these or any boot fit is to go to a store and try them on. I don't know your local setup, but these are pretty popular boots, places like REI and even my local board shop carry these. So look around and try these boots on.
yea, thats what i would like to do. i live in alabama so its a little hard finding a place. ill check around though if i can. just thought i would get some opinions in the mean time..
These boots are great.

The great thing about these boots is that they are super high quality and bomb proof. No joke, the fabric wrapping the toe, is SOOO strong. These are great for well, people like travis rice, how aren't really jibby( i guess you could in these) but they do a lot of all mountain, and hit those jumps.

I had read reviews they were sized small. I wear a 9 in Salomon Speedcross 3 running shoes, Zamberlan leather hiking boots and DC and Vans skate shoes. I have been riding a 9 1/2 in the 32 Timba boot for the last few years. I deduced a 9 1/2 was a good place to start. It was super small length wise and my toes were very crunched. I exchanged for a 10 and the same issue. I am not talking about a slightly small and they will pack out with time small. Seriously small as in toes curled. I was worried about ordering a 10 1/2 and having the length fit and be swimming around the ankle. I made a hard decision and paid extra for the leather version of the Burton Ion (perfect fit). I was able to try on the TR in the 10 1/2 at a local store and was glad I did not try them. They were exactly what I thought - good length but poor fit on the ankle. For the right foot I am sure they are nice as the quality was definitely there. Solid construction, light weight, and all the bells and whistles. I would not suggest for smaller ankles though. Try them on first if you can. 3 stars for good construction, but poor sizing control.
