New to snowboarding and just started carving really, these came in handy when I hit a patch of ice and came down hard on my tailbone. I am not sure what would have happened if I didn't have these on, I was going pretty fast and hit tailbone first then left hip. The armor in both places kept me from ending my day on the slopes after that fall. The day after now and I can barely tell I ate it so hard yesterday. They paid for themselves in one day already, I am 28 and can't afford to get hurt because of my job. A must have for boarding where there isn't fresh powder to break your fall.
