One company that is doing things differently is Arbor snowboards out of Venice, CA. This small board builder is still owned and managed by the two guys who founded it, Bob Carlson and Chris Jensen. These two use unique all wood top sheets and other environmentally friendly materials to build boards that are as good to look at as they are to ride. Last season found Arbor boards on the best of lists in many snowboard magazines. Long time pro rider Mike Basich can be seen dropping out of helicopters and riding monster rails on his favorite Arbor board. Arbor snowboards are for the rider who doesn’t need to follow the crowd to know what is cool.

Description of Arbor Bug Longboard:
Arbor constructed the Bug Longboard for women who want a light, agile street-skate and all-around super fun ride. At three feet long, this board kicks ass for moderate to experienced longboarders of small stature, and it's also great for average-sized dudes who are cool with sacrificing a little stability for some killer turns. Arbor made the Bug board from seven-ply maple with a strong, resilient, and enviro-friendly Bamboo finish ply, so it's fast and powerful on push-off but won't send you flying with every bump.

Bottom Line: Ladies and smaller dudes can ride the Arbor Bug Longboard for a fun, fast skate.

I love the size and speed of my bug! I have only one problem with the bugger. It can be a rebellious pain in the ass some times when it wants, being a little unstable at times can be annoying but it rarely ever causes a crash, bang, boom so I'm satisfied with this board in the all around view. It handles corners like a pro and can go pretty fast. Its also great for my size: 5'3" and my bro even enjoys it at his: 5'11". Being my first Long, I've enjoyed it greatly.
