One company that is doing things differently is Arbor snowboards out of Venice, CA. This small board builder is still owned and managed by the two guys who founded it, Bob Carlson and Chris Jensen. These two use unique all wood top sheets and other environmentally friendly materials to build boards that are as good to look at as they are to ride. Last season found Arbor boards on the best of lists in many snowboard magazines. Long time pro rider Mike Basich can be seen dropping out of helicopters and riding monster rails on his favorite Arbor board. Arbor snowboards are for the rider who doesn’t need to follow the crowd to know what is cool.

Description of Arbor Roundhouse Snowboard - Wide:
Ride all your favorite terrain with the Arbor Roundhouse Wide Snowboard. Pipe, groomers, powder–you like it all. The only problem is that your size 12 boots always drag when you turn toeside. This wide deck gives you skinny-board performance and doesn't lag behind. The Roundhouse's bamboo topsheet and wood core give you easy turn initiation and superior edge control at any speed. A carbon fiber strut provides a catch-free ride and just the right amount of pop so you can make that extra rotation. Meanwhile, the progressive sidecut and super-fast sintered base give you the high-speed control to cruise past the masses on their skinny planks.

Bottom Line: The Arbor Roundhouse Wide gives you all-mountain performance you just can't get when your boots drag in the pow.

Just got back from a trip to Breck and the roundhouse performed great in everything from groomers to fresh pow. Plenty of room for my sz 13's with no heel or toe drag.

I have an older version of the roundhouse that i've ridden at least 50 days over the last 2 years. Im 6'2" 210lbs with size 13.5 feet and ride the 163cm, it isnt the lightest board around but i can bomb through some powder, or even some choppy nasties with the added width. That being said, i rarely leave the trees and this board is excellent there as well. The tiny divots in the sintered base are freakin awesome but the first time you get it waxed they are gone, so enjoy while you can. Definitely recommend this board, although i got mine a few years ago for cheaper.
