One company that is doing things differently is Arbor snowboards out of Venice, CA. This small board builder is still owned and managed by the two guys who founded it, Bob Carlson and Chris Jensen. These two use unique all wood top sheets and other environmentally friendly materials to build boards that are as good to look at as they are to ride. Last season found Arbor boards on the best of lists in many snowboard magazines. Long time pro rider Mike Basich can be seen dropping out of helicopters and riding monster rails on his favorite Arbor board. Arbor snowboards are for the rider who doesn’t need to follow the crowd to know what is cool.

Description of Arbor Cross Step Longboard:
When your local break goes flat, grab the Arbor Cross Step Longboard and dial your old-school surf moves on the pavement. As its name implies, this 46- inch -long, 10- inch -wide skate is big enough for cross-stepping, hanging ten, or just cruising the sidewalk. The Cross Step’s 6-ply hard rock maple construction resists chipping and cracking, while its stringer patterned power ply topsheet adds extra strength and vintage style. The Cross Step has a medium flex, rockered design, and a clean, tapered shape that lets you easily weight the board’s nose for maximum stability at speed.
