this was my go to jacket last winter in boston. as lightweight as it is, it survived. just add a thick fleece or hoodie underneath and you're all set for cold weather. oh, but make sure to wear gloves. the pockets don't have very much padding, so it can be trying on exceptionally cold days. it's great though-- i highly recommend it.
