The Ortovox Cougar Avalanche Shovel features a lightweight, unbreakable Lexan polycarbonate blade that converts for use as an axe to chop at consolidated avalanche debris. The Cougar also incorporates a T-grip suitable for either left- or right-handed diggers. The anti-slip strapping on the shaft comes in handy when moving hard or heavy snow, and telescoping handle action means this shovel fits nicely in your pack.

Once again ORTOVOX ups the game by finally delivering on its promised master piece. The S1 is truely a work of art and the most advanced and accurate avalanche tool ever made. Out of the box anyone can use this simple beacon. With a visual graphics desplay that is easy to see in bright conditions with your sun glasses on! Point the beacon towards the avalanche then follow the images, hear the beep and go right to the victim! With multiple signal seperation capabilities, depth perception and advanced fluxline calculations this is the professionals tool. Having used and relied on beacons for more the 15years it is easy to see that this tool is state of the art and built tough. Simply the easiest and nice to use and without a doubt it makes me faster to finding and extracting multiple burials scenarios. It was sorth the wait! I love mine.
