Description of Rome Libertine Snowboard Boot - Men's:
The Rome Men's Libertine Snowboard Boot gives you a heat-moldable liner for excellent fit and comfort. The Rome SDS last incorporates a deep heel cup lined with directional fabric so you can rip toe side turns without your foot slopping all over the place. Lockable zonal lacing lets you strap it up super tight where you want it and leave it loose where you want—you make the call. A grip patch on the outer Achilles interacts with your highback to give you greater control. Molded footbeds give you comfort and decrease foot cramps so you can stay on the hill when deep, light snow is beggin' to get schralped.
Bottom Line: The flexy Rome Libertine Snowboard Boot allows you to dial your fit for all-day performance and comfort.
These boots from Rome are listed as a Medium flex. I feel that they're more Medium/Soft. The forward lean is Soft but the lateral movement is Medium. The liners are extremely comfortable due to the soft fabric lining the inside and the padding that surrounds the Achilles tendon. The boot's shell is constructed well and show no wear after 20 days on the hill. The greatest thing about these boots is they feel like big tennis shoes even during the first time wearing them. So comfortable. I gave them a 4/5 because the design on the lacing system makes it a little hard to loosen the laces on the top of your foot after a day of riding. If there were half points it would get a 4.5.
I rode the 2009 Libertine last spring and it was awesome. At the time I was on a 2008 pair of Burton Sabbaths. The libertine sized similarly. It was a little softer though, which I liked for the park. These boots look amazing in person, with the zipper details. Get the Bowery glove to match and bam, sick. Get these if you want a comfy, good flexing freestyle boot.
These boots are uber comfy, a bit wide at the base, but the perfect flex! If you didn't know the guy who started Rome was in the mix with Burton for a while designing boots and binder's, but he bailed cause Burton's blowin up. So if you've ever had a pair of Burtons and like there comfiness and support, but want something thats gonna last longer and not just randomly fall apart! Rome is where it's at get em son!
