Birth of Your Bike
Birth of Your Bike
by R. de LucaWarming up for your first bare-knuckle boxing bout. Being handed a guitar backstage at a Clapton concert. Walking on fire. All exciting activities, but somewhat nerve-racking. Much like ordering a bike online, until now. HuckNRoll is changing the online bike game.

ORDERING
From the moment you arrive on the site, HuckNRoll has you covered like no other bike shop in the industry. Whether you need help with frame sizing or just have a question about component compatibility, expert bike advice is always a call or click away. Our SLC shop staff, hand-picked by UCI-Certified, USA Cycling Certified lead mechanic Jeff Bates, is like Los Alamos during World War II: pure genius in the desert. They know more about bikes than NASA knows about rockets, and they’re the only ones putting hands on your new steed.

When your order comes in, we pick your frame and parts from the warehouse shelves…

…and then double-check each package for everything from missing ferrules to frame damage. We won’t even start building unless everything is kosher.

BUILDING
Every frame is “faced and chased” (bored and polished to ensure proper headset seating and bottom bracket fit), and then built up by hand with the parts and components specified in your order. We torque each bolt to the manufacturer’s recommendations, and suspension components receive proper fluid and pressure for your weight. Park Tool is our shop supplier, so you can be certain every wrench that touches your new wheels is the right one for the job.

TESTING
When your bike is complete, the build mechanic takes it for a test ride around the warehouse, and then hands it off to another mechanic for inspection and a second ride. Every bike that leaves the HuckNRoll shop has had at least two pairs of eyes on it (usually more, ‘cause having new bikes around is like being in a candy store) and has been ridden twice to check for issues.

SHIPPING
Before we ship your new bike to you, we’ll give you a call explaining how to properly receive it. When you do, you’ll see our Build Card, signed by the mechanics who built and tested your bike, packed into the shipping box along with all the included manuals and warranty information. That’s our way of saying “Hi, we’re the real human beings who built your bike.”
Most companies ship their bikes partially assembled and charge a mint for shipping; yours leaves our shop ready-to-ride, for free. Even shipping is free, if you use a business address. All you have to do when your bike arrives is install the front wheel, adjust the seatpost and hit the trail.

OUR GUARANTEE
Our 30-Day Unconditional Guarantee starts when you receive your bike, so you have plenty of time to ride and uncover any issues. A couple of days after delivery, you’ll get a follow-up email from us. We want to know how you like your new ride, and we want to make sure you have all the proper contact information at hand if you have any questions.
Does all this sound unbelievable? It shouldn’t. This is the kind of service you should expect from your local bike shop, and that’s what HuckNRoll is. We’re real people who love bikes, just like you do. The only thing missing is the greasy handshake…but we can probably arrange that too, if you want. Thanks for stopping by, and…
Stay Dirty.
