Pro-tec Assault Helmet

Pro-tec Assault Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 January 30, 2009

Very light, you can forget that you've got it on. Vents are nice, ear pads comfy. No sizing issues, but I've got short hair, and can get a beanie in underneath without it being tight. Dig the skulls in the camo design which I didn't even notice in the pics of these online. Something to be aware of with these, the chin strap doesn't get along well with the velcro on my coat collar and has frayed a bit, so try to keep your straps clear of the hook side of any velcro on your gear.

Flow NXT AT Snowboard Binding

Flow NXT AT Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2009

Just picked a set of these up and Love Them! Adjusting these properly is key for the first time you take them out. If you don't, getting your boot in and out of the binding won't work quite right. Took a bit longer to set up when installing than my friend's pair of Burton Cartels, but well worth the effort for the time saved at the top of the runs. I run with a mixed group of skiiers and boarders. Before they were always waiting on me. Now I skate off the lift, flip the highback and latch, and am strapped in and headed down the slope by the time they get their goggles adjusted. As other folks mentioned, you can get into these when you're not on a flat area, just drop to your knees rather than sit, kick your boot into the biding and flip up the back. Getting into these while sitting is possible...but a complete PITA and if that's your preferred method for strapping in and you can't deal with the methods listed above...these aren't the bindings for you. For the people that say they're too expensive, I ask you this: "How much do your lift tickets cost, and how many more runs do you think you could get out of them if you weren't spending all that time ratcheting in every time you reached your drop off point?"

Amazing Boot!

Salomon Synapse Snowboard Boot - Men's

Salomon Synapse Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2009

These things are warm, incredibly comfortable, supportive, and stiff enough to transmit subtle rider inputs. I haven't even taken advantage of the thermo-forming capability yet and may not simply because they're so darn good now. Being a legit size 12.5, I love the fact that Salomon provides half sizes to the larger shoe size crowd. After cramming into a 12 that cut off circulation to my toes and slopping about in a 13 that didn't provide enough input from other brands these are like a small piece of heaven, and I almost don't ever want to take them off! Besides, who doesn't love camo?

Great Board

Arbor Roundhouse Snowboard - Wide

Arbor Roundhouse Snowboard - Wide

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2009

My first wide board experience and love it. Size 12.5 boots, no heel or toe drag. Requires the slightest increase in effort to transition onto the edges when compared with my previous standard width board, but if you've got gonzo kicks like me, you'll love the greater angle you can get while carving. Performs well all over the mountain, groomed, pow, bumps, jumps, trees, etc. Only negative thing I'll say is that the top sheet is so freakin' beautiful on this board that you'll die a little bit inside when that first scratch happens...

Sick looking and performing goggles

Oakley Seth Morrison Signature Crowbar Goggle

Oakley Seth Morrison Signature Crowbar Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2009

My second pair of Oakley goggles and would definitely recommend them to anyone. Got the Persimmons which are great for all around use. Would agree with the assesment that they suffer a bit on those really bright sunny days though. Fit is great, over or under my Pro-Tec Assault Helmet. Silicone inner on the strap is great for holding the goggle strap position and preventing slippage when wearing these over a helmet. Skull design on the frames and straps isn't done justice in the photos.
