I have snowboarded since the late 80s. Took some years off due to travel. Back into it hard core. I have a 30-something board quiver... Always trying something new.

What you really need to know. I review what I own. What I ride. What I have personal experience with. I'm not regurging the manufacturer's description.

Good stuff. Better than rear entry

Ride Contraband Snowboard Binding

Ride Contraband Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 4 April 14, 2011

These are real decent for the money. I rode a popular rear entry binding early in the season, and got tired of the hassle. I switched to these, spent 20 minutes setting them up according to Ride's video instruction, and took them out. My size 11.5 boot was firmly locked into the size 9-11 binding, and I had excellent control overall. The v-strap definitely locks the toe in... No question! The side adjustment must be dialed in correctly in order to keep your boot from slopping around.

Bottom line - adjust your bindings. Dont expect to take them out of the box and rock them as-is.

Ride Contraband Snowboard Binding

Disagree. Go smaller. If you buy the 11-13, you'll whine about your boots being sloppy. I am riding Contrabands (9-11) with DC Super Park boots, size 11.5. Great fit, no slop.

DC Super Park Snowboard Boot - Men's

DC Super Park Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 14, 2011

I would give these boots 5 stars if it wasnt for a couple pesky pressure points on the sides. I blistered my first week in these boots. As I break them in, and learn how to get the tongues JUST RIGHT, its not so bad.

Other than that - extremely lightweight, quality construction as expected from DC, and nice flex. I'd recommend these boots to anyone who is spending more time in the park than doing massive carving... But do yourself a favor and try them on in person before buying.

Awesome!

Forum Republic Snowboard Binding - Men's

Forum Republic Snowboard Binding - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2011

The Republic has made its way up the ranks at my house, and has proven itself this year on several boards. Quickly becoming my go-to binding.

The split baseplate combined with the hinge disk is a simple concept that WORKS. You can feel the flex under your feet. Enough said?

The full length GOOD VIBES footbed feels great. Absorbs the vibrations and flat landings, but doesnt feel mushy under your boots.

The highback is nice... Not too high, not too low. I ride with almost zero forward lean, and this binding is still super responsive.

The tool-less adjustments on the straps is NICE... But mandatory, because the ankle strap likes to pack out pretty quick, and continues to stretch throughout the day. Better start out with it a little shorter than you usually ride!!

Not many complaints. These are super nice bindings without having to spend a fortune. TAME colorways make them easy to match up to your current deck.

Awesome board!

Lib Technologies Lib Ripper Skate Banana BTX Snowboard - Kids'

Lib Technologies Lib Ripper Skate Banana BTX Snowboard - Kids'

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2011

I picked up a 115cm Lib Ripper for my son a few months ago. It's his first season riding, but he has outgrown his old Burton Chopper in both size and riding style. The Lib Ripper changed his riding style significantly, and he quickly discarded the bad habits the Chopper taught him. He is progressing much quicker on the Lib. I highly recommend this board.
