DAKINE Low Roller Snowboard Bag

DAKINE Low Roller Snowboard Bag

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

I have a 144cm board, and I got the 157cm Pink Plaid bag. It has a bit of room to spare, but it certainly isn't swimming in the bag (I leave my bindings on). The outside pockets are so handy, the wheels are smooth, and the zipper never gets stuck. I don’t have to worry about taking it on the plane. The bag held up and the board is unscathed. I do throw my pants, jacket, and long underwear in there for a little extra protection (some airlines allow snowboard bags up to 50lbs for free…take advantage!). I’m happy with the bag all around. The pattern is pretty sick, too.

Not my favorite pair, but definitely not bad.

Oakley Script Sunglass - Women's

Oakley Script Sunglass - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 3, 2008

It's no secret I love my Oakleys. This pair fogs up a little bit from time to time (mostly when I get a warm car and it's cold out). They're a little bit big on my small face, but I don't mind. They're best suited for a medium face, I'd say. I have the green tortoise with dark bronze lenses. The green tortoise is sick, and the lenses are as effective as the dark grey lenses I have in my darts. They really make that harsh, direct sunlight not so bad.

Flashy!

Oakley Belong Sunglasses - Women's

Oakley Belong Sunglasses - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 3, 2008

So I got these like two weeks ago, and they haven't left my face ever since. The detailing looks a little different in person than it does in the picture. I have the caramel ones, and the detailing is gold (shiny) with some little swirly lines in it. In the picture it looks more deeply engraved than it really is. The design is still pretty flashy. The lenses are good for days when you have the sun out, but it's not extremely bright. They're also pretty light, not as light as Omatter, but not as heavy as that alloy wire stuff (Darts). They're slightly big for my small face, but not too bad (probably perfect for a medium sized face).

A bit too heavy.

Oakley Dart Sunglass - Women's

Oakley Dart Sunglass - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 February 11, 2008

I love Oakley sunglasses. I actually purchased these while on vacation in Cali last year. They look amazing, but after I wear them for a few hours, my nose starts to hurt. They are wire, so obviously they are heavier than O-Matter. I like my Oakley Speechless ones better. If you're only going to wear them for an hour, then buy these. If you wear them any longer than that, take some aspirin for the headache you'll receive.

I wear these more than any other pair.

Oakley Speechless Sunglasses - Women's

Oakley Speechless Sunglasses - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 11, 2008

These Oaks are amazing. I bought them last year when they first came out (or was it the year before?). Whatever. I have a small face, and they don't make me look like a bug. One of my friends who has a bigger face than me wore them, and they looked good on her too. They're also light. You can wear them for hours and forget they're on your face. They're virtually indestructible, too. And it's a given for Oakley, the quality of the lenses is second to none.

The glovemaker at Burton is looking out for us.

Burton Impact Glove - Men's

Burton Impact Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 17, 2008

Less money than a hospital bill for a broken wrist...these gloves are well worth the money. I had regular wrist guards under my gloves before, and they were so bulky and uncomfortable. These gloves are a much better choice. They aren't bulky, and while they are stiff to protect your wrists, they're not uncomfortable at all. They're as warm as my fleece lined gloves, and waterproof. The picture makes the fingers look like something out of Robocop, but they’re comparable to the fingers on my regular pair of gloves. Plus Burton put little bungees on the end of the gloves so you can hook them to your sleeves.

I heart this board.

Burton Feather Snowboard - Women's

Burton Feather Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 9, 2008

This is a killer board. It's nice and light, good flexibility, just a great all around board for women. You can't beat the price for the quality you get. For those of you buying your first board, I'm 5'1" with size 7 boots and the 144 suits me perfectly. I've never been happier.

They weren't kidding when they said stiffer.

Vans Tara Dakides III Snowboard Boot - Women's

Vans Tara Dakides III Snowboard Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 January 9, 2008

I wanted a stiffer boot, and man did I get it. They do loosen up a bit after a few days on the slopes, but not by much. Still, I like them. The lining is nice and warm, and comfy too. They put the good Velcro (the kind that actually lasts) on the top so that the tongue of the lining doesn’t slip down. They also don't reek after spending a day or four in them, always a plus. The ‘harness’ is a looped string with a tab that you can easily pull to tighten your boots while riding if they feel a bit too loose. My other boots never had a ‘harness’ so I wondered what that was exactly. If you don’t like the harness, just take the strings out. Great boot for the money.

Not bad.

Burton Citizen Snowboard Binding - Women's

Burton Citizen Snowboard Binding - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 January 9, 2008

These bindings are surely budget friendly. The only issue I have with them is that my back binding can be tempermental. Sometimes it's easy to catch and strap in, and other times I have to take my glove off and clear the powder out of it to get it to catch right (it tries to go through the wrong part when I crank it). It takes a little bit to get it to feed through, but really it's not that bad. I'd buy them again, because the issue that I have can happen with any strap in.

Super warm

B by Burton Amelia Jacket - Women's

B by Burton Amelia Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 January 9, 2008

Are you cold? Then buy this jacket. It's not my very best jacket for riding, but it's still sweet. Goggle wipes are always a plus. Just look at it. If you aren't going to wear it for riding, you can wear it for everything else. Fur around the hood is so key.
