This jacket is extremely toasty, with faux fur throughout the body and arms. This is my go-to jacket when it's super cold out. It's as warm as a down jacket.

Hey Manny. Because you're a pretty small dude, a Small will be your best bet. Anything larger will be WAY too big.

Meh, they're not "real tight," they are a slim-straight fit with a 16.5 inch leg opening. For reference, Volcom's 2x4 (very slim) denim has a 15 inch leg opening.

The fit on this jacket is a little longer, slimmer and less boxy than a traditional jacket. Expect the torso to come down to your upper/mid thigh. It fits true to size. I'm 6' 160 lbs, and the Large fits perfectly. If you pick up this jacket, you will be loving it.

They're both pretty freakin slim. When you try them on they feel a little roomy, but they have to be so you're not frankenstein legs on the mountain. Once you get strapped in and moving around, they feel way skinny.

What up bud. I'm 6 feet 160 lbs, and have ridden both the 54 and 57. I had the same question as you this season-- which size to buy? I chose the 57 because like the other dude said, it rides like a shorter board. Also, the 57 is a bit stiffer in the tail so it's less likely to wash out on big landings (a common problem with rocker boards). Go with the 57.. it will slay the jibbies, press easy, but have the length and stiffness to hold a line and get stompy reeling in the big landings.

This jacket is a lightweight shell. It has no real insulation at all. It's purpose is to be worn on mellow, warmer days to allow good wind protection, waterproofing and breathability without being too warm.

The Shandyland has no insulation--it's just a shell jacket. The Shandyland's outer shell is made of V-Science 2 Layer, V-Science Stone Stop and V-Science Jacquard. These are all fancy names for Volcom's jacket material. The Shandyland does have a liner called V-Science breathable. Most all jackets feature some sort of ilner. The liner is a soft, moisture-wicking polyester material that separates your skin from the jacket material.

The Shatter jacket features similar materials (V-Science outer shell, and V-Science liner), but does have 60 grams (60g) of poly-fill insulation in it. That's a medium amount of insulation. This insulation will help keep you warm in colder temps but may also cause you to overheat when Spring riding rolls around.

5K is pretty much the least waterproofing offered in outerwear. Over time, you will probably get a little wet if you're falling in slush a lot.

Our jackets don't come with temperature ratings. At least, I've never seen it before. This is a heavyweight sweatshirt, basically a regular sweatshirt made of thicker material. It won't be windproof or anything.

Hi Marci, this jacket is generously sized, as most snowboard outerwear is. I'm 6 feet, and could wear a medium in this jacket. I suggest a size small for your son as a medium will be quite baggy.

Yep, a baselayer and fleece will keep you mad toasty under this jacket. It's got a really good waterproof rating, which means it's also very windproof. It has the same, longer fit as other 686 jackets. You're good to go!

By definition, "board shorts" lack liners. If you're worried about the see through factor, all of our board shorts have been designed for completely opaque qualities when wet. Really, a liner is not needed at all.
It sounds like what you're looking for "swim trunks," which do have liners. We do not sell swim trunks on this website. Sorry about that.

Growing up in the midwest, I can say that pretty much nothing will block the wind of a Chi-town winter. This jacket is not windproof and I gotta be honest, you'll freeze your ass if you don't wear a layer or two underneath. Rock it with a sweater and a scarf for style points and you'll be golden.

It's got plenty of insulation and a good waterproof rating. This jacket will keep you way warm in cold temps.

It's a regular, mid-weight hoodie. Definitely not a summer hood.
