Decent Face Mask

Celtek Outbreak Face Mask

Celtek Outbreak Face Mask

Rating for this product: 3 March 24, 2009

I ordered this mask and for the most part it is ok.

I really like the fact that it is made out of meshy material rather than neoprene or cotton. The neoprene masks are big on functionality, but they look pretty lame and hint that you an in the closet Hannibal Lecter. Cotton bananas look good, but freeze almost instantly and don't do much.

Looks are good, and the fact that it is reversible is a nice design touch.

HOWEVER, it may be my facial structure, but putting the thing on snug really tugs against my nose and gets a little uncomfortable. Also, the meshy material only covers the mouth, but not the nose, so breathing through the shnoz takes more effort than one would expect.

Solid Sandle

Reef Federale Sandal - Men's

Reef Federale Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 24, 2009

No complaints, fits well, but haven't walked in them for an extended period yet since it is still kinda cold.

Always had good experience with Reef's.

Make no mistake, these are more casual sandals so if you have a high arch, you might have foot fatigue if worn for long periods of time.

Eco Friendly

OneBallJay Bio Green Hot Wax

OneBallJay Bio Green Hot Wax

Rating for this product: 4 March 24, 2009

Yea, you get a little bit of brownie points for being eco.

Wax works well in most conditions so far, although I have to admit I'm not extremely experienced with wax.

One problem is that it can be a HUGE pain in the ass scraping the stuff if you leave it on for too long. As I recall, the longer you leave the wax on the better it is, so this gets kinda annoying.

Probably a great idea for storage wax.

Ride CAD Snowboard Binding

Ride CAD Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 4 April 3, 2008

I swapped these from Salomon Relay XLTs and am so happy I made the switch. The Issue I had with the old Relay toecap was that it would fall off after a couple of jumps and I would always have to stop and ratchet them back.

With the new rubber capstap I could not have been happier. The binding is super stiff and response is excellent. Another poster mentioned that these aren't for the park, but I have yet to hit the park hard nor used soft bindings to know the difference. But on airs with tweakage they aren't terrible in my view.

The canting system works well, but it is annoying to mount on different boards because there are now 8 screws per binding and then you have to fine tune everything again.

There is also a small issues of the sides of the toecap not having enough play when you strap in. It just feels like the edges towards the baseplate are rubbing against the boot, but I haven't had any boot related problems so it might just be imperfect fit for Salomon boots.
