Never Summer SL Snowboard

September 26, 2011

The great thing about the r.c. Tech on these boards is you don't have to get them big to be stable. If you like the 155 you used to ride and are comfortable on it, you'll love the SL 155. I know cause I have one!

You really can't go wrong with either. I have the SL wear an 8.5 so I don't have to worry about toe hang. Not sure on the exact specs of the width. try contacting a gear head directly, they've got all the answers!

most come with the blue base with green NS logo. but why worry about the color of the base bro? NS makes some of the best boards on the market and they are made right here in the States unlike other companies that outsourced their products to other countries recently...

K2 Snowboards Grom Package S - Boys'

February 14, 2010

Chris has good points, board should be somewhere between chin and nose... starting out, I'd suggest keeping it a bit closer to the chin. As your boy gets bigger, weight is sometimes a better way to buy, but also consider desired style of ride... but for now, stick with height of the chin (or maybe a little extra so the little guy can grow into it and you don't have to buy him another board next year to save yourself some $$$).

DAKINE Sequence Backpack w/Camera Block - 2000cu in

Rating for this product: 3 December 26, 2009

This bag is great in terms of carrying your camera equipment... but then you also have a board and all your other gear. There is no board carry, for a snowboarding pack, this alone takes points away. Who designs a bag with no board carry when you've already got so much to take care of with your camera gear. So camera gear alone, sick, plenty of space... but when it comes to overall functionality...bummer

686 Smarty Port Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 13, 2009

My girlfriend is ALWAYS cold... literally. Needed to keep her warm in the snow, being that we're from Cali but only ride in Utah and she swears by this jacket on the slopes and when it is raining or cold here in Cali. She stays warm and completely dry. To quote her in response to wearing her new 686 jacket (got it for her last year), "This is the first time I've ever been warm skiing."

Just simply top of the line... You can't go wrong with anything 686 and their 3 in 1 tech is the best (and I am pretty sure they were one of the first companies with it...if not, their the best with it!)... Just spend the extra cash and have a jacket for every situation from coldest days to last day of the season...

First time I've ridden with a helmet...had friends telling me they don't cause it's not comfy...this helmet made liars out of em all. The helmet is comfy the sound is good and easy to mute with the on-line mute button so you can join the conversation once you've made it back to the lift line. The sound is good and will block people out if you want to go stealth...

super bummed my size isn't available in this years model but these are some of the most comfortable boots around. be sure to insert the provided boomerangs to lock down your heels and away you go. lacing system keeps you locked. just all around quality and not bulky like some other boots that will "lash" out of your bindings

Such an improvement from last year

Celtek Clan Winter Glove - Men's

Celtek Clan Winter Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 11, 2009

This years edition of the Clan glove is more like the version from 2 years ago when I was first introduced to Celtek gloves. Last years version were an absolute nightmare, these have way better quality. I sand papered the gloves on a tree the other day and they were still looking brand new. Not exactly sure what mad3472144 has been doing with the gloves that is so normal that they are wearing out on him so quick cause my pair are holding up strong. And super easy to do work with em on if you need to tighten a bolt, open a beer for a little betty or skip over that lady gaga track your girl snuck onto your mp3 player...

Capita Stairmaster Snowboard

If you have the extra cash get the Never Summer Evo. Rocker/Camber tech blows everything out of the water including any Banana you can find... if you already have your all mountain board and want a stick for straight park size it down and get your spins on... just be sure to dull down your edges for those rails. Never Summer Evo-R Rocker/Camber Snowboard

Super fun board to mess around on. I'm more of an all mountain, back country kind of rider, but for the early conditions this year I pulled this board out and have had so much fun dodging trees, popping 1s and pressing things out. Never Summer simply makes great boards all around

686 top of the line!

686 Smarty 2.5-Ply Complete Pant - Men's

686 Smarty 2.5-Ply Complete Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 11, 2009

I've been wearing 686 gear for just about as long as I've been riding about 14 years now, and they continue to make some of the best gear year in and year out. The quality is top notch, I've had some of my 686 jackets for 5+ years and they are still in great condition. These pants don't let me down at all from mid Jan when the temp is around 0 and I've got all the layers zipped in to spring riding with the vents open on the slushies. Stay dry and comfortable. 686 is just simply best of the best when it comes to outerwear. Even my friends, who know way more about snowboarding and snowboard gear than myself are jumping on the 686 outerwear this year after years of wearing burton, volcom, analog... well you get the picture. with 686 it's really hard to go wrong

Avid SkullCandy fan, but not my favorite

Skullcandy Chops Earbud Headphones

Skullcandy Chops Earbud Headphones

Rating for this product: 2 March 11, 2009

Got these hoping they would help my ear lobes, but I was disappointed. These are the first pair of skullcandy I've have that I am not happy with: I've had the earbuds (hurt my ears, but sounded sick), the Hesh (amazing, but landed on my head off a kicker, they exploded) and Tis which are damn good and comfy...

Style points high, warmth ???

Volcom Doppler Gore-tex Jacket - Men's

Volcom Doppler Gore-tex Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 5, 2009

This jacket looks super sick on. Black is proper (there are a lot of jackets out there that claim to be "black" and show up not so black). But I wore this jacket on a day that was 10 degrees in Utah and I was freezing...had to go buy an extra layer. I would think that for the price is might be a little warmer. If you're going to spend the money get something with insulation and more warmth... this jacket should go for about $100-$150 less than it actually sells. I'm probably returning.

Update: Ended up keeping the jacket, layered up underneath it...great jacket when you've got the layers!

Best pants ever...

686 Smarty Complete 2.5 Ply Pant - Men's

686 Smarty Complete 2.5 Ply Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 2, 2009

Down right best ever...period. 686 smarty line is one of the best lines out there and they get better every year. I've been wearing some type of 686 gear for about 8 years now from pants to jackets and they've all always been quality and the fact that they've moved away from removable hoods on their jackets, sick. But this is about the pants...buy them no need to ask questions. They fit proper so for all you park rats that like your super mad steeze of bagginess don't buy these pants, they fit too well for you. And if you are part of the SPC (skinny pants crew) you won't like them either. They have enough swagger and bagginess to be comfy, but not so much that they get in the way.

Disappointing material from early editions

Celtek Clan Winter Glove - Men's

Celtek Clan Winter Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 December 18, 2008

Was super stoked on getting my first pair of Celtek's after wearing my buddy's old pair (two years ago model)...but we all agreed that Celtek seems to have gotten cheaper in their construction and use of material. I've used the gloves riding for three days this season and already there is more than noticeable wear in the material of the gloves. Now if you own Celtek or have anything to do with making money when someone purchases Celtek you're stoked cause I'm going to have to buy another pair before January is even over if I want my hands to stay warm in the slightest.

These gloves are super chill when it comes to ease of working with your hands if you need to tighten your bindings using your tool you shouldn't have to take em off, but other than that Celtek's commitment to quality was left in the burner seat somewhere between last year's model and their construction of this year's model...maybe they wakeboarded too much over the summer and got lazy with their quality??? Super disappointed
