Great boots, but BOA is flimsy

DC Status Snowboard Boot - Men's

DC Status Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 12, 2009

These boots are DC's most expensive boot for this 08/09 season. Very stiff for freeriding. There is a red plastic insert on the tongue of the liner that I removed to make it a little less stiff until they're broken in. Used them 8x so far and not sure when I'll be ready to put those back in. Design is great, designed by Peter Saville. The memory foam alpha liner means you don't need to heat mold them. They fit to your feet each time you slip them on and don't pack out nearly as fast as other boots. Only drawback is that the boa system is still kind of flimsy. This is my first pair of BOA boots, and one of the side knobs broke off already. Luckily a local boardshop fixed it for me so I didn't have to ship them in and wait a week or two for waranty repair.

Nice Jacket

Burton Outlast Tech Jacket - Men's

Burton Outlast Tech Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

Pictures really don't do it justice. It's a really nice denim/tweed type look, in a bluish/greenish color. Orange/brown Autumn-looking liner. It's a really really nice jacket with all the features and very well-made. One of Burton's nicest jackets. If you like or don't mind removable hoods, and are looking for a warm shell jacket, you can't go wront.

Favorite Jacket

686 Mannual Militant Insulated Jacket - Men's

686 Mannual Militant Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

I got one of these on sale towards the end of last season, sight unseen. I like outerwear to be baggy, although it's a bit bigger than I expected. All the features you need and very good quality. Close enough, so I kept it. I've never been cold in it, and it is now my favorite of all 4 jackets I currently wear.

Best Stomp Pad EVER

DAKINE Modular Mat Stomp Pad

DAKINE Modular Mat Stomp Pad

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

I go through alot of boards each season, so just in the last 2-3yrs I've probably bought 7 or so. I always try and heat it up with a hairdryer, peel it off, and then immediately reapply to another board. I can usually do that 3-4 times until it loses it's tackiness. Just don't get the ones with the pattern, because when you peel it off the pattern (with the adhesive) separates from the stomp pad and you can't reuse it.

Gore-Tex FTW

Burton Gore-Tex Glove - Men's

Burton Gore-Tex Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

I'll prob never buy another glove without at least a Gore-Tex insert. Wet hands are no fun. This is my 2nd pair, and these have held up better than the Sessions Gore-Tex ones I had before.

Huge

Foursquare Baraveto Snowboard Pant - Men's

Foursquare Baraveto Snowboard Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

I like outerwear to be baggy, but these were huge. Ended up returning them because they didn't have the next smaller size in stock (I bought them on sale towards end of last season).

Good Value

Burton Hood Jacket - Men's

Burton Hood Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

It's a nice jacket well-made, thin insulation but still light and not stiff at all. Great value for the price, if you like the colors available. I got it from Whiskey Militia for a steal, but the "Rock Salt" color on the underarms was actually like a bright white. It would get dirty way too quick, so I returned it.

Very Nice

Foursquare Michalira Jacket - Men's

Foursquare Michalira Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

Foursquare makes great stuff for reasonable prices. This jacket is one of the nicest I've ever tried on in this price range. Besides the usual pit zips, it has a vent that unzips all the way across the back from 1/2 way down one bicep to the other. You hardly ever see that in a jacket. I returned it because I don't like removable hoods, but if you don't mind that, this is a solid jacket.

Didn't Fit

Dragon Mace Goggle

Dragon Mace Goggle

Rating for this product: 3 December 9, 2008

Very very nice goggles. However, I made an amateur move and thought they'd fit like my DX goggles. Well, they didn't, so I had to return it.
