Burton Wheelie Gig Bag

you can fit more than two boards in this without bindings plus still have room for gear. i've had no problems whatsoever in two seasons except a little wear on the bottom. ya' hear that, baggage handlers, yer' dinging my gear!

all good

Burton Cartel Snowboard Binding

Burton Cartel Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 April 20, 2009

i've replaced three boards in the time i've had mine and, while the boards have taken some abuse the bindings sill ride fantastically well. there are enough adjustments to make them stiffer on the mountain and looser in the park. i'd like burton to add more shock absorption material in the base plate for the big jumps (the four hole disc isn't fully padded, but the three hole version is), but i'll happily buy these again. the new toe and heel straps do make the bindings more comfortable, and are a solid upgrade over last years model

core version

DC MLF Snowboard

DC MLF Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 April 20, 2009

i bought the core version of this board for park riding, but i've been happy with it on the mountain, too, despite the fact that i bought it down 4 cm in size (i'm 5'11" 180 and the core only comes in 154) for jibbing. most of the flex is in the middle of the board, which is nice on rails, but the tip and tail are much more stiff, giving a lot of pop when weighted properly. the base has held up very well so far, and is relatively fast. i've had no problems landing bigger jumps on this and it feels good on rails and boxes. my riding has gotten better since i bought it.

Burton Emblem Sock - Men's

Burton Emblem Sock - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 20, 2009

good socks, but i had a little seam trouble. nothing a needle and thread couldn't solve, but for the price you shouldn't have any issues. they are comfortable and they do what they are designed to do well.

all mountain freestyle

Forum Grudge Snowboard

Forum Grudge Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 April 20, 2009

forum's site calls this an all mountain freestyle board. for me it is too stiff for rails and boxes, but it takes big kickers with ease and it rides powder well since the board's side cut is a few cm off of centered. i have the '08 version, which is a little heavy, but i've read that the '09 version is much lighter. wax this one !well! or it won't be as fast as it can be.

Oakley A Frame Goggle

Oakley A Frame Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 April 20, 2009

i do emergency services work for the state from time to time and these are the same goggles designed for that purpose. they meet all the safety specifications for impact resistance and other standards. there are many color options for fan-boys and hipsters to get your steez on, and many lens options for any riding conditions. i've never had the inner lens fog up. they are comfortable with or without a helmet

can be perfected

Pro-tec IPS Wrist Pads

Pro-tec IPS Wrist Pads

Rating for this product: 3 April 20, 2009

these aren't quite perfect yet. when i was a kid we bomb empty pools (there was drought in ca at the time - but isn't there almost always?) and i took a different version of these along for the ride. actually, i wish i had worn them more. that version had straps that were much, much less elastic and they offered more protection. these fit me well, but i always feel like i need the strap tighter and less mobile that this elastic version will go. the flexibility does offer more options for hand plants, but i like the security of a tighter strap. still, i bought them since nothing will end a sess' faster than a broken wrist anywhere on the mountain, park, pipe or street. these help when learning new or big tricks. recommended for safety alone.

DC Gauntlet ll Gloves

DC Gauntlet ll Gloves

Rating for this product: 1 April 6, 2009

the fit was very good, but these gloves didn't make it past the first day. on a day with wet snow and strong winds these gloves were soaked by lunch. the lanyards also didn't make it to the end of the day, having torn off at the cuff. the liners appear to be well made, but they hold water, too. i've had much better luck with dakine gloves, particularly the goretex ones.
