I have the same boots and when I domoed these, they fit a lil weird. Its mainly because the Lashed are one the widest treads on the market, so in a lot of binders they fit a lil weird. But you will def need a L/XL to fit the 12's. I have a pair of L/XL '09 Contacts and a pair of '10 Forces, and my size 12 Lashed fit well in them. But the cage of the Flites are a lil snugger, so be aware of that. To have a super wide sole to begin with will make the fit a lil off until you tweak them to your liking. Great company tho, and will prob never rock any other binder company other than Union.

I think ur confused a lil lol. Only 19% of the binder is actually touching your board, but that doesn't mean that only 19% of the binder is attached. The base plate attaches like any other base plate, but because of the EVA foam, it makes the binder pretty much float on your deck. 100% of the binding is attached, but the foam raises it up off of the board to allow for a 'more true' flex. But by only having 19% of the binding touching your board, that doesn't mean it's weakened by any means. I have a pair of '09 Contacts and they are stellar. I have had no problems with them as of yet and they are still gonna be with me for another few years, AT LEAST. So to answer your question in full, no they are not weakened by the contacts points, and yes they are as strong or stronger than anything out. Union all the way

Yup, they definately will. And they will feel like youre not even wearing bindings. They will also make your board flex more 'true' because of the contact points and how much the binding actually touches the board. I love mine and its gonna be hard to find better outside of the Union brand

If you want to get the L/XL they will over hang for sure on ur nanna. You need a waist width of atleast 255(25.5) to make sure you dont drag. If you are rockin 10.5's tho, you are still able to get the M/L. But be aware that these binders run a little on the skinnier side. So if you are rockin a pair of Lashed or a wider treaded boot, it will take a lil messin around to make em fit just right. If you can tho, get the M/L, they will fit the boot better

Yea you will fit no problemo bro. The Contacts are the only one with 3 different sizes, s/m, m/l and l/x, so you will find a good fit either way. If not, you can look at the Flites, but personally I would go with the Contacts

Very true to size boot. If you put a lot of hours on them, you might even want to go a half size down just bec of the pack out. Very comfortable boot right out of the box and I have had no problems with them, and ive been rockin them for 2 years now along with my Lashed

March 10, 2011
The TM2's are a true to size boot. So if your foot is an 11, then you should get an 10.5-11 just because of pack out after long use. I have a size 12 foot in Circa's and a 12.5 in Nike and I ride a 12 TM2 and a size 11.5 Lashed because they are a little wider in the foot bed and they are my park boot. So obv I want a lil softer boot for the park. TM2's are a skinnier profiled boot compared to most. But if you are in between an 11.5 and 12, with these I would tell you to get the 11.5 just for the pack out alone. But if you dont put 100+ days on them a year, you could def get away with the 12's

I would go for the Contacts bro. I have a pair of '09, love them and they are still kicking strong till this day. The Shakas have the split baseplate design and hinged disk to allow your board to flex more true, but thats where the Contacts shines. With only 18% of the binder touching the deck on the Contacts, it takes the place of the hinged design of the Shakas and allows your board to actually flex more true than the Shakas. Contacts are more comfortable, better design, beter buckles, damper and less chatter because of the EVA foam, and for $10 less, yes please. Oh and this binder takes anything you throw at it and more. Not only a sick park binder, but a great all around binder. I take it off 60' booters and I never wash out. Union all the way

Im 99% sure they will. Burton made the 'retro discs' to be compatable with with other binders out there. The majority of binders have the same size base plate, so you should be good. Im sure Burton realized that not everyone will rock the Burton deck and Burton binder set-up, so im pretty sure it will work

ThirtyTwo STW Boa Snowboard Boot - Men's
March 3, 2011
32 are pretty true to size all across the board. So if you rock a size 8 shoe, then thats pretty much what you should get. I dont know how Burtons fit, as I do not buy Burton, but the best bet would be to get to a shop and try on a pair of 32's. They are similar all across their line up, so really fitting is the same for almost all of the boots. Prime's are wider in the foot box, Lashed are wider tread, TM2's are slimmer but fit true to size and so are the Prospects. So get to a shop and try on a pair, that will give you a better idea. Because 1.5size jump from your shoes to your Burtons is HUGE, and you usually size down when buying boots. But standard, they all are pretty true to size compared to your shoes. I have a size 12 shoe and I ride an 11.5-12 depending on the the boot. Hope this helps bro

Rome Machine Snowboard - Wide
February 28, 2011
Well the Machine has one of the widest waists on the market for wide decks. I ride one (154W) and I have size 12's with about 1-2cm extra on both toe and heel side. Usually the bigger the deck, the wider it gets. You will be able to fit, you just might need to have your stance a lil more tweaked out. This deck rips tho. I've been riding it for 2 years now and it only gets better as time goes on. But for your size of boot you will need to look at a waist width of no less than 260(26cm), and this one does accommodate that. Others you can look at are:
-K2 WWW Wide(either reg or reverse)
-Ride DH Wide(1 or 2), Ride Crush Wide, or Ride Highlife Wide
-Rome MOD Wide or Postermania Wide
Its all dependant on what you mainly ride as well. Ie. park, pow, trees. But just read through and decide from there. Hope this helps bro

ThirtyTwo STW Boa Snowboard Boot - Women's
February 28, 2011
Most boots with at least a level 3 liner, well with 32 anyways, run pretty true to size. Depending on how much you ride will determine the 'pack out' of your boot. But it is always good to go a half size smaller just for that fact. So yes an 8 will fit true to size, but in a few months you will notice you have a little more wiggle room in the toes or heel. So go for a 7.5, heat mould them and they will be perfect

Well its only really snagging on the outer tread of the sole for me. And yes the Lashed are one of the widest foot-beds on the market, and are usually the same year in and year out. As for the Contacts, im not too sure if the cage design has changed much. But by the looks of bothe of the years, it has not. I dont know why you are havin such a hard time with them tho? But for some reason I have just made mine fit proper. It could also be that I have tweaked the shit out of mine to get the best fit. But really thats all its about right, comfort and fit. Style is good too, but for me its all about the ride and comfort of the product.(Funny to say because I have the CMYK print and they are pretty flashy lol) I would just play around with them and you should be able to get them to fit. Move the heel cup, ramps on the base, and straps and im sure you will make em feel nice.

Well both have almost the same design, so its kinda up to the feel you want. The Contacts will allow your board to flex more 'true' because only 18% of the binder is actually touching the board. On the other hand the Flites are a few ounces lighter, but touch about 40% of the board. I personally have last years Contacts and I love them. I take them from steeps to trees and obv kill park. My personal opinion, get the Contacts as they are a comfier binder and the cage of the binder is a lil wider for a better fit. But really for around $20 more, I would stick with the Contacts. Hope this helps

Lashed tend to pack out quite a bit, depending on how much you ride. I have last years Lashed in a 12, and thats what my shoe size is. They were great at the beginning of the season, but are now packed out to prolly a 12.5 (I ride around 100+ days a season). So for next season I will go a half size down. I would say get the 7's, heat mould them, and they will pack out to the proper fit in no time. Hope this helps :)

Rome Anthem Snowboard
February 10, 2011
Height only has a little to with sizing up ur deck. Its mainly based on weight and how big of a deck you like to ride and what you mainly ride, ie park, pipe, groomers etc. Seeing as its a directional deck, im guessing you mainly ride groomers or pow? How much do you weigh? If ur 5'3, then the 157 is too big for you, unless you like riding a huge deck. I would put you on a 152 for a good solid all around ride but wont be a hassel in the park if you decided to rip through. A little bigger if you mainly ride the pow, and the same(152) or possibly smaller if you mainly ride park. But seeing as it is a hybrid camber board, you are able to ride something a little shorter in comparison to a traditional cambered deck. So if you usually ride a 155, you could technically drop to lets say a 152 and you wont notice much of a difference. So in comparison to me, im 6' 170lbs and I ride a 154W. Hope this helps

Well put it like this... I take my Contacts to trees, steeps, park and pow. I hit booters in the 40-70ft range and I never wash out. If you want a lil stiffer ride but you canstill kill park with, then get the Forces. Me personally, I switch up from my Contacts to my Forces but only when we go to larger resorts. Contacts are my go-to binder and they have never let me down. But like I said if you want a lil stiffer ride, then the Forces are the way to go. But personally the Contacts have worked wonders for me on pretty much any feature. Mind you I ride a positive cambered deck(Rome Machine), so that helps a lot with washing out on bigger kickers. Hope this helps

Welcome to the world of riding a pair of 32 Lashed lol. They have one of the widest treads on the market and a lot of people complain of the fit with them in the cages of their binders. I have a pair of last years Contacts and I have a pair of '10 Lashed and '09 TM2's. Its the same with my Lashed as well. The tread comes too far out off of the sole so it snags on the cage of the binder. Ive gotten used to it, or I just switch up to my TM2's as they are skinnier profiled boot. But dont worry because you're not the only one with this problem. Ive just found a way to set them in the cage so that they snag less. And yes you are rite about the fit, -11=M/L and +11=L/XL. And yes, its not the binder, its the boot. So the fit will be the exact same. Just switch up the boot for a better fit. Hope this helps bro

Well the scallywag doesnt have a super wide waist to begin with, so trying to slap on the L/XL might be a lil tight. But seeing as you are still in the M/L range, I would say go with those. I ride a pair of 32 Lashed and TM2's and I find that the TM2's fit better in the cage of the binder rather than my Lashed due to the tread/sole width. I have last years in CMYK and I ride L/XL with 12's and these bad boys are sick. But go with the M/L as the L/XL will prob give too much room in the cage.

If the toe straps are coming off, then these people do not have their strap tight enough and its not sitting proper on the boot. I have Contacts and Forces and I have had no problems with the toe strap slipping or coming off. It is made up from a synthetic material and it holds quite well. So to answer your question.... No they will not slip as long as they are set up proper to your boot

ThirtyTwo Lashed Snowboard Boot - Men's

They are a relatively low profiled boot in comparison to most out there. BUT you have to look at the width of the tread/sole. The Lashed are on the of the widest treads out right now and some people complain about the fit in the cage of the binding. I have this problem aswell with my Lashed, but because I ride a L/XL binder, it fits a little better. The TM2's are a skinier profiled boot and are slimmer in the toe box, and they fit better in my binders rather than my Lashed. But I switch them up from park to all mountain days. True to size and they pack out a good amount depending on how much you ride. I have ridden Lashed for 2 years now and my TM2's for a year and the pack out is greater on the Lashed than the TM2's. I ride 100+ days a year, so I put a good amount of abuse on my gear. But I have no problems with my Lashed and they are a great boot. Hope this helps bro

You will be just fine. I ride the 154 W and im 6' 170lbs with size 12's and still have room. Because the waist is one of the widest on the market, its easy to accomodate those sizes. My buddy with 14's rode my deck and he was only dragging a lil. So with your boot size you will be just fine. With my 12's I still have about 2cm on both toe and heel side to play around with, so no worries about it fitting. And yes this deck KILLS it everywhere you take it. Ive been to Whiss, Sunshine, Tremblant, Saint Sauver and just my local hill and I've had no problems thus far... And I've been on mine since 2009 and it still has plenty of years left. They might but it all depends on how wide your waist actually is. The top half of the binder should be fine, but I dunno about the base. I ride a Rome Machine W with a waist of 258 and I have about 2cm clearance on the toe and heel(from base to edge of the board). If your board is something like a 250, you might be ok. But these binders do run a tad smaller than my Contacts and Forces, so you might be able to get away with them. And yes your sizee 11's will fit in the L/XL. Just tweak them down to fit your boot proper. I have a size 12 boot and ride last years Contacts and the binder isnt maxed to the biggest setting, so you will be fine

They are a lil different from the Contacts. I ride a pair of '09 Contacts and I own '09 Forces aswell. The Flite comes in contact with about 40% of the board, as the Contacts only come in contact with 18% of the board. With the Contacts they will allow for a more true flex of your board seeing as only a minimal amount of the binder is touching. With the Flites, you get a little lighter package (but not much as the Contatcs are mega lite) but with more contact from board to binder. I love my Contacts and they have never let me down. I ride park to steeps to trees and everything inbetween. Personally I would tell you to get the Contacts if you want a solid binder that can kill park but will still hold pretty much everywhere else. But obv its all personal preference. Hope this helps :)

Force's are pretty much one of the best binders on the market today. Union in general makes unmatched product in terms of comfort, durability and price. I would tell you to go for thr Force's as I have a pair, but my every day binder is the Contact. Just read reviews about these bad boys, and you will probably end up getting these. BUT Flux makes all of their binders with toe-caps. Union makes theirs to go on top of the boot or infront of the toe, and Flux doesn't have that variation. So it should come down to what you like and what you are comfortable riding. But if you get these you will not be dissapointed at all, trust me. Hope this helps brotha

Lemme break it down like this.... Union makes the BEST binder on the market for price, comfort and style in my opinion. I ride a Rome Machine 154W with a pair of Union Contacts (but I do own the Force's aswell) and I love my set-up. Switch up from Contact's to Force's depending on the place we are riding at. But my Contact's are my go-to binders. Traditional cambered deck with a 'park specific' binder is a great feel for my style of riding. I like a stiffer board with softer binders. Union is really the only company I will buy for binders as of now. You get the same tech, if not better, for a lower price point. Life time warranty on base plates and depends on what you broke, Union is not stingy about helpin you out. Ive ridden every binder Union has out right now and they are all sweet. If you have a Agent and want to progress I would say either the Force's or the Contact's for sure. The Force's are like a 3.5/5 and the Contact's are like 2.5/5. Both will hold through pow, trees and still allow you to flex your park muscles. Also the Contact's only touch 18% of you board, so it allows your deck to flex more naturally. Thats what I absolutely love that about them, you feel like your always in control. So really you can't go wrong with either one. Really you can't go wrong with any binder they have out. Oh and the Contact Pro is Gigi's sig binder. High back is a little stiffer, but still gives you a softer flexing strap, but will still be there for you when you need to power out of stuff. You will no be dissapointed with any binder you get from Union. Hope this helps bro

First let me say that both of these companies are sick. BUT for binders, Union is the way to go. For tech, comfort, price and durability, you want to get a pair from Union. Seeing as you want to get the SL's, the price point will be almost the same(Unions will prob be a lil more cash, but WELLL worth it). I have ridden both companies in terms of binders and I would have to say that Union makes a better product, and the majority of the time its cheeper in price. If you want better bang for the buck, go for the Force's. I personally have a Rome Machine W and L/XL Contact's and 32 Lashed and TM2's, and I love my set-up. The TM2's fit better in the cage bec they are a slimmer boot, but by im not saying that my Lashed do not fit(Lashed have one of the widest foot prints on the market). They do and they feel nice and comfy, even for being a wider treaded soul. So just keep that in mind bec u said you rock a pretty wide boot. Altho I ride a larger boot than you do, and they both fit just fine. And a 2 year warranty on the base plate is a nice touch too. Hope this helps

Depends on if your feet are still growing. If they are then you could def get the L/XL, but just size it down to your foot size. If you have stopped growing, then get the M/L. These are a pretty soft binders tho just like the Contact's. With the Force's you can still kill the park but have the stability and hold that you would want in an all mountain binder. I personally ride the Contact's and I take them from park to trees to steeps and they hold just fine. The Flight's are comparable, but are still a tad softer, and the Contact's are the 'park specific' binder(so they are pretty soft as is). But they still should be good. Hope this helps bro

I would say go for the Force's bro. They will hold you better than the DLX's will from an 'all mountain' perspective. I personally have ridden pretty much every binder Union has to offer and I have these and the Contact's. I use my Contacts everywhere I go and as an every day binder, but I mainly ride park as thats really all we have in Ontario. But I would say get the Force's as they will felx nice in the park but will still hold you when you wanna drop off that 60' cliff

I take my Contacts from park to steeps to trees and everything in between. They are a softer binder, but they will still hold you through what you wanna get through. They are a little softer than the Force's, but not by an extreme amount. I would say the Contacts are like a 2.5/5 and the Forces are like 3.5/5 in stiffness. The Force's will give you that little extra hold and support, but will still allow you to flex ur park muscles no problemo. And I dont know how they compare as I do not ride Burton, sorry bro

Why are you riding a wide deck with size 9 or 10 boots? I ride a wide deck and the waist width is 260(26cm), and I have size 12's!! But for your size of boot you should go for the M/L binders. But if you are rockin a wide deck, I would switch unless you like more board under your feet. My feet are 2 sizes bigger and I ride a skinnier deck than you do, so dont even worry about dragging. Even if you got a L/XL (but dont because it will be too big for your boot), you wouldnt drag. Hope this helps

Union Force Binding
December 8, 2010
They overlap for smaller footed peeps compared to mid-wide/wide rider. If you are a size 10, I would tell you to get the M/L. And they actually run a lil different from what is listed. The M/L runs up to a 10.5 boot, and the L/XL runs 11 and up. The reason why the sizes overlap is because some ppl are right in the middle of both sizes, kinda like you are. So obv the baseplate and bottom of the binder will be longer/bigger on the L/XL compared to the M/L. So ppl that ride a mid wide can rock the M/L or the L/XL depending on waist width of your board. So Union kinda gives you an open option of going for something with a smaller package for peeps who are right in the middle. But I would go for the M/L if your feet have stopped growing. Also depends on what kind of boot you rock, bec they all fit different. I ride Contact's and I have 2 pairs of 32 boots (lashed and TM2's) and they fit really different in the cage of the binder. So thats also why the sizes cross up a bit, to give the variation of sizes for you to choose from. M/L all the way for you tho bro. Hope this helped

They go inside your boot inbetween your liner and boot. They are for your ankle/calf area. If you want more filler in your boot to hold your ankle properly, this is where you use them. Basically to adjust the feel of your boot around the ankle incase your ankels/calfs are skinnier

I have ridden these and pretty much every binder in the Union line-up. They are definately heavier than any Union on the market right now. Rome makes great product tho(I ride a Rome Machine), comfortable, pretty durable and looks pretty coo too. But for less money you get an even comfier ride with better tech and pretty much a bombproof binder when you go with Union. Plus you get a life time warranty on base plates from Union. I've had my Contact's for two years now and I wont be getting rid of them any time soon. For an all around package tho, Union is the better choice. My next binder will be the Force's or the Data's, but for now and what I ride, Contact's are the sheeeeeet. Hope this helps bro

With size 11.5 you def will be dragging. You are now getting into wide decks with that boot size. Just to be safe I would look at the wide version of this deck. I think you can get a 151W in it, and that will still be super playful for you in the park and not overly huge to ride

Well with size 12 boots you are entering into the world of wide decks. I ride a Rome Machine 154W with a waist width of around 258, and I also have size 12's. So you want to get something around that waist width. And with rocker boards you are able to ride something up to 5cm shorter than your 'reg sized deck'. How much do you weigh? Im 165 and I pretty much max out my Machine, but it is not a reverse cambered deck. So if I were you, and you weigh something like 140-165lbs go with a 153W. Hope this helps brotha

With rocker boards you are able to ride something up to 5cm shorter than your average deck or 'deck that you should be using'. But I would go for the 155 just to be safe. Tris is right. I wouldnt get the adult size because there might be too much room in the cage of the binding(where the foot goes into the binding). The heel cup will be too big and allow for too much movement, and the cage will be too wide. I would go for the Micro Flites, better choice for smaller feet and better geared towards kids

I have the ones from last year and they are still holdong up quite nicely. I live in Ontario, and we get some pretty cold winters so I needed a glove to keep me toasty on -30c nights. These do the job just right. They keep you hands nice and warm but dont over heat them to where you get clammy hands. I would give these a 4/5, maybe even a 5/5, but no wrist gaitor so ill give them a 4/5 lol. Flex is great, they dont freeze up in the bitter cold, nose wipe is plush and they look is sweet. If you like the look of mitts and need a solid pair, these are the ones to get. Hope this helps

BUT watch out, even 8mm is HUGE when your talking about dragging or not. The 'standard' width of the waist for L/XL binders is usually 254 minimum. Ride Kink Snowboard - Wide
November 29, 2010
The Kink is a very forgiving board, so yes it would be an alright board to start out on. Altho pro's ride this deck aswell. If you want the Manual, you can also look at the Machine.I ride an 08 Rome Machine and I love that deck to death. Its held up on some pretty crazy missions, and is still kicking. Now I have ridden the Kink wide aswell and that deck is very nice for presses, jumps and its alright on steeps and trees. But yes the Kink would be a good deck to get you going. Also this deck is not a reverse cambered deck or anything like that, it is a traditional cambered deck, if that matters to you. If you go for a rocker, its way more forgiving that a traditional cambered deck. This being said tho, it makes it more 'loose' feeling or more 'noodley'. Some people who start off on those will never go back to a traditional cambered deck bec of the way it feels. But either one will do just fine. I would say the Kink is a bit softer than the Manual, and you get added 'slime walls' with the Kink, whitch are really nice when you are riding park or flying at high speed on hard pack. Its pretty much a dampening strip, for less chatter, that runs along the side wall. Hope this helps

They are not that great for anything too big. If you hit anything under a 40 footer booter, then you might be ok. But they are really soft. Obv if Joe rides them, you know its geared more towards park and a softer flexing boot. If you match them up with a stiffer binder, then you might be ok. But I personally wouldnt get them unless you are pretty much a park rat. You will be ok cruising groomers and hitting smaller features, but if you wanna hit 50' booters, you will most likely wash out. I have a pair of Lashed and TM2's, and I switch them up. Lashed for park days and just cruisin, and the TM2's for more BK and all mountain. Hope this helps

If you ride mainly POW, then go for the Contact Pro. Its designed by Gigi, and if you know anything about how he rides, then you will know he goes HUGEEE in the BK. This binder does NOT sacrafice stability or comfort and does not feel lke you have no control bec they are 'too soft'. Both are sick binders, but to shave off a few ounces is always a nice touch, espesh when you are slugging through pow and BK. And it will allow your boot to move around more when hitting pillows but still keeps your foot right where it should be. If I were you, I would go for the Contact Pro, but really either one will do the job and some. Hope this helps :)

November 25, 2010
Ooooo thats a hard one bro. Decisions, decisionssss. Well both are sick binders, as all Union product is. The Contact Pro was made for Gigi, so obv he hits HUGE booters and rides a lot of BK. He wanted a super light binder with a good flex but still holds you right where you want to be. He also designed it the with bigger heel cups to give ur hands more room when you use your board to help climb those 45 degree inclines. The Contact pro only makes contact with 18% of your board, so its gonna allow your board to flex more naturally (espesh with a reverse cambered board). Both are really good binders tho, so really its up to you. If I were you tho, I would get the Contact pro. But I also mainly ride park, so they would be better suited for me. Its a hard decision bec both binders will KILL all over the mountain. Also one color way for the Contact pro, compared to 4 on the Force. Hope this helps bro

Union Contact Binding
November 25, 2010
They are all good choices. The Contact's are a softer binding, but not by a whole lot. Softer bindings make it more forgiving when you make a lil mistake, and allows you to correct it a lil easier than with a stiff binder. I would class it like this from stiff to soft..
Data's, Force's, and the DLX's and the Contact's are around the same.
And you are right about wanting to go for the Contact's with a reverse cambered board. Seeing as only 18% of the binder actually makes contact with the board, it allows your board to flex more true. I ride mainly park, but I take my Contact's from park to steeps to trees and everything in between. I LOVE them. And for the price, comfort, durability AND tech, Union is the way to go. I would say go for the Contact if you wanna get better and just have a blast while learning. But lemme tell you, you wont go back to anything else after buying binders from Union. Hope this helps

The straps are a little plusher and are a little stiffer. Also the high back is a touch stiffer aswell and a little more padded, but you wont really feel the difference. Both have a stage 2 base plate, same 8.8 hardware, and same magnesium buckles. Its basically a beefed up Force binder, geared more towards the BK, with a different look. What width of board do you ride right now? If you ride something with a waist width of 253 or smaller, then the L/XL will not be a great fit. Also Union mkaes three different sizes to allow riders to fit right in where they should. This being said, you are right on the cusp of the M/L as they fit up to a size 11. If you think your feet will grow another size or two, then go for the L/XL. But for the proper size to fit your boot, I would say go for the M/L. And you will NOT be dissapointed with these bad boys. Im about the same size as you (6' 165lbs) and I ride a 154W, and all I mainly do is jib. BUT I do not ride a reverse, rocker any other kind of negative camber, I ride a traditional cambered deck. This being said, with a reverse cambered deck you are technically able to ride a deck that is 5cm shorter than your traditional cambered deck. For me the 55 wouldnt feel too long, but I already ride a 154. You should be fine to ride the 151 bec of the FK, but be aware of the weight restrictions. Seeing as it is a wide deck, you should be fine. Im guessing you use a L/XL binder? On the 55 the waist width is 260, whitch is perfect for your boot size, but I dont know how skinny the 51 would be. I have had my Contacts for two years now and I love them. Smooth, solid flex throughout the straps and high-back. 18% of the binder actually touching the board to allow for a more natural flex of the board. Now this being said, they are softer than the Force's or Data's, but not by an extreme amount. I like to pair mine up with a lil stiffer boot (I have a pair of Lashed and TM2's that I switch up for different nights). I ride mainly park and I hit 50's no problem at all. No wash out, no "omg im way too loose to ride out", none of that. If you mainly hit booters tho, I would say go for the Force's as they will give you that little extra to help out with landings. Ppl also say they are super soft bec they are prob riding a reverse cambered board, with softer boots too. So obv the ride is gonna feel loose and soft bec of all of that. I do not ride a reverse cambered board (Rome Machine), and like I said switch it up from a softer boot to stiffer. You will be good hitting 60's with these tho. Just pair them up with a stiffer boot and you will not wash out. Ps... these are really comfy and a great binder. 'Park specific', yet I take them from park to trees to steeps to bk. You should get the M/L binder for that size of boot. The M/L sizes up to somewhere around a 10 1/2. If you think your feet will grow more than a size or two, then get the L/XL. The Prime is a little wider than most boots, just like the Lashed, so keep that in mind. My Lashed are a lil bigger in the cage than my TM2's, but the TM2's are a skinnier boot. I have the L/XL Contact's, but the Contact's and the Force's are comparable in cage sizing(where your boot actually goes into your binder). Burton Love Snowboard - Wide - 09/10
November 11, 2010
Well the flex pattern on a wide is a little different that a reg sized deck. Power transfer and edge transfer is a lil different aswell. But all-in-all they ride just like a reg deck would. It gives you a lil more meat under your feet and they are definately more stable at higher speeds than a reg deck. Bigger surface area pops you up better in pow and keeps you a float easier. You are pretty much on the cusp of mid to wide. But if you can jump on a mid-wide, that might work for you too. But if your feet are still growing, then just get a wide as you will have to change it up in the long run anyways. I have a size 12 boot and I ride a Rome Machine 154W with a waist width of 258. Personally I cant ride anything skinnier than a 256, so I ride a wide rather than a mid. Hope this helps bro

Capita Horrorscope FK Snowboard
November 11, 2010
Yeah boy it is. It has the FK design in this board, whitch means that this board is made with rocker that extends from inside the binding inserts to the tip and tail. So you get a poppy yet buttery ride, whitch is more forgiving and has a less catchy feel while riding it. With most rocker boards they allow you to ride up to 5cm shorter than you reg sized board. So because the boards tips are raised, it is less catchy and allows for more float in the deep stuff. For your size tho, I would say get the 149. But if you think you will be growing mad quick, then go for the 151. Either one you will be stoked on. And if you are intermediate, this deck will boost your confidence a ton to get at those more advanced features of the mt. Awesome flex, solid ride and not too washy at higher speeds, and made by a solid company. Capita had problems with de-laming of their top sheets in a super fast time, and unfortunately it still seems that they still have this problem. Hope this helps :)

If you do not have the channel on your Blunt, then you are good to go. Good flex, hold well, and power transfer is solid and correct. The DLX's are a softer binding with a good flex. You can take them from park to pow no problem. They dont have all the bells and whistles as the Force's or Data's, but Union makes solid product throughout their line. Union Force Binding
November 10, 2010
Ive ridden both and they are very close in flex, power transfer and comfort. I personally have a pair of last years Contact's and I must say that I LOVE them. Like riding on a cloud of comfort all day. Not to say that the Force's arent comfy, they really are. But the Contact's have softer straps for better presses. Seeing as you ride a reverse cambered deck, the Contacts will allow for a more natural flex seeing as only 33% of the binding is actually touching the board. Some ppl are getting freaked out by how little contact is being made, but it doesnt feel like ur strapped into a big bowl of jello. They are just as secure as Force's, and keep my feet right where I strap them down to be. I take my contacts to the park, steeps, trees AND pow. Union makes 'the real deal' binding, seriously. Either one will be sick, but if ride mainly park then go for the Contact's. They are not washy, hold you in place, power transfer from edge to edge is strong, and just all around a great binding. If you want a tad stiffer then go for the Force's. My buddy has them mounted on his Postermania 1985(reverse camber) and they allow for sick flex. Hope this helps :)

Just like Nw Ninja I also upgraded from Ride's to Union's and never looked back since. Trust me when I say that these binders will last you a long time and investing in Union is a SUPER smart decision. Technically you can size down 5cm from you reg length board if you wanna go rocker. I personally wouldnt because I ride a 154 now and that would put me on a 149, and thats wayyyy too small lol. But lets say you ride a 156 regularly, I would say drop no more than 3cm. Plus with the magne-traction, it will bite better and be more forgiving. So really the 'looseness' you feel on a rocker board would be nulled with the magne-tration. Hope this helps

Union DLX Binding
November 10, 2010
They are more of a softer binding. They perform best in the park and off of smaller features on the mountain. IF you want a more 'all mountain' binder, check out the Force's as they are a bit stiffer. Not saying that you cant take the DLX's on the whole mountain, but it might feel a lil loose if you rip at higher speeds. I have last years Contacts and they are listed as 'park/urban', yet I take them all over from steeps to trees to pow. So im pretty sure you can do the same with these bad boys. But if Joe uses them, then you know they are a pretty soft binding. Union makes sick bindings that last through the abuse you will put them through, trust me. But personally I would spend the extra $70 and get the Force's. Hope this helps bro
