I've been riding for about a year now. My first board was a Forum Recon, and I now ride a banana. I thoroughly enjoy snowboarding.

Not for big heads!

Pro-tec Ace Freecarve Helmet

Pro-tec Ace Freecarve Helmet

Rating for this product: 2 February 3, 2010

I ordered this helmet in XL, which is the largest available, and it was still too small. And the ear pads only covered half my ears. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because Protec's sizes are not accurate. I'm sure if my head was smaller, this would be a great helmet. So, I then tried the Smith Maze helmet in Large, which fits my head perfectly. It seems Protec helmets run a bit small, so if you have a larger head, stay away! The Smith Maze is a much better option! Also, Giro helmets are an excellent option as well.

Pretty cool

Grenade Standard Bullet Glove

Grenade Standard Bullet Glove

Rating for this product: 4 February 2, 2010

These gloves are great for either warm or cold weather. They do a pretty good job keeping the hands dry too, considering how thin they are. I can even fit my wrist guards underneath them. I just wish the gloves would come past the wrist a little further. Also, the pair I ordered did not have the grenade logo on the palm print, which I was glad to see.

Grenade Standard Bullet Glove

February 2, 2010

I ordered these gloves from the site, and the palm print didn't have the grenade logo on it. I was actually glad, I'm not a fan of it.

Excellent and affordable alternative to RX goggles

Oakley Proven Over The Glass Goggles

Oakley Proven Over The Glass Goggles

Rating for this product: 4 February 2, 2010

I didn't exactly want to spend 150 dollars + for a pair of RX snow goggles. My glasses fit very comfortably inside these goggles, and I can take the goggles off without my glasses coming off as well. However, the goggles don't do a great job preventing my glasses from fogging up. But a good, cheap alternative for RX's.

Sturdy and Grippy

Burton Large Scraper Mat - 09/10

Burton Large Scraper Mat - 09/10

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2010

Left this stomp pad on my board for 12 hours before riding(even though it says to leave on for 24). It's not going anywhere. I can't get my boot to slide off this thing if I try. Pretty much available wherever snowboarding gear is sold.

So comfortable

Burton Buffer Sock

Burton Buffer Sock

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2010

Ever since I started wearing these socks, I haven't experienced any foot or toe numbness. They fit seamlessly inside the boot and help eliminate those pressure points. They keep my feet nice and toasty and dry. Very comfortable and snazzy looking.

Nice

Forum Republic Snowboard Binding - Men's

Forum Republic Snowboard Binding - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2010

Bought last year's model of the bindings, and they work great. Excellent response and very stiff for precise movement. The ankle straps are super comfy and minimize pressure points, and the toe straps work great. They are very customizable to your liking and easy to do so.

Not impressed

Ride Orion Snowboard Boot - Men's

Ride Orion Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 February 2, 2010

The description said they had speed lace, but they don't(which I know is not the boot's fault), but the laces tended to come loose from the cuffs. The toe box felt extremely cramped, and at the same time, I got tons of heel lift. After a couple days of riding, the fabric on the toe area was all frayed. I much prefer my Forum Constants over these.

I'm not sure if this year's boots are improved, but this is just a heads up. I much prefer my Forum Constants over these.

Good, I think

Forum Republic Snowboard Binding

Forum Republic Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2010

This is only my second pair of bindings, so it's hard to compare. But they are definitely better than my first pair(Forum Liens). The ankle strap is super comfy and minimizes pressure points, and the toe cap works well. The bindings are very customizable and easy to adjust for the most part.

Comfortable and functional protection

Pro-tec IPS Elbow Pads

Pro-tec IPS Elbow Pads

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2010

These pads don't have any ABS shell on them, but you can smack your elbow onto anything and it won't hurt a bit. They are very lightweight comfortable, and do not inhibit elbow movement at all. You will be glad you have these when you smack your elbow on a rail or that rock hard ice.

Good tailbone protection

Demon Snow Flex Force Low Armor

Demon Snow Flex Force Low Armor

Rating for this product: 4 February 1, 2010

These shorts have a great tailbone protector and and pretty decent butt cheek pads as well. Compared to every other impact short I've encountered, these have the best protection for the tail bone and lower spine, which is the most important spot in that area. I fell right on my ass on a box while trying to do a board slide without any pain. My only complaint is that the pads tend to shift around a bit, but other than that, these are great for freestyle progression and are a huge confidence booster.

Forum Constant Snowboard Boot - Men's

Forum Constant Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2010

These boots are sweet. They are true to size. They're extremely comfortable, and with the right socks, remain that way for hours on end. I got them in white, and they came with an extra pair of neon green laces, which look way cooler than the stock white laces. Unlike most snowboard boots, they just look like a giant pair of skate shoes, which I find to be pretty aesthetically pleasing. So fresh, yo.

Love the Toque

Smith Maze Helmet

Smith Maze Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2010

I find it hard to find a helmet that fits my head well and is comfortable. This helmet fulfills that need. Its very lightweight, supposedly the lightest snow helmet available. I love the toque fabric that covers it; its pretty much what sold me. And the added removable magnetic poof ball on top is always fun. If you have trouble finding a helmet fitting your huge head, get this in large!
