How much longer and wider is the xxl than the xl? The xxl from a few years ago was a dress, but with the AK fit it might be perfect. I'm 6'3", 225 lbs. and currently have the XL, which is a bit tighter than I would want it but I'm not sure if the XXL is too big.

Burton Park Crew Sweatshirt - Men's

Great sizing and really good weight - lighter than the Chapin crew, but still a nice weight sweatshirt. No hood = great layering without getting in the way of your jacket collar, but you still have the long and loose style. This sweatshirt fits way better in XL than the cheaper Burton sweatshirts fit in XXL - no shrinking versus massive amounts of shrinking. Like this so much I ordered another one ... You can't have too much of a good thing ...
