SUPERbrand SUPERquadrofinia Surfboard

March 11, 2013

its a quad fish so itd be good for knee high to head high mushier waves for groveling and getting loose. Quad fin set ups are faster, and the deeper swallow tail gives you some extra drive, but the fatter shape wont be as responsive as a traditional high performance. So yeah this would be a good board for an intermediate surfer who likes to get loose on smaller less clean waves.

TERRIBLE TO PRESS

Rome Butter Knife Snowboard

Rome Butter Knife Snowboard

Rating for this product: 2 February 25, 2013

I cant be the only one who hates the way this board presses, but whenever i press a box i can feel the board rocking heel to toe under my foot because of the 3d camber. Same thing with carving into a jump, when you go to flat base you just wash out. It was a good idea rome, hopefully youll get it right next time around.

So far so good having put them on maybe 15 hours of park tow rope sessioning. BUT, the seams busted near the thumb and the velcro closure ripped off. The palms are good, but the actual quality of the glove is disappointing.

SUPERbrand Dion Agius' FF SUPERcraft 2 Surfboard

February 25, 2013

By far a longboard. Look for something about 2 feet taller than you with lots of foam (wide, thick, full nose and tail.) The more foam in your board (the bigger it is) the easier it is to paddle around and catch waves with. Being a beginner, you need a big board so you can learn to catch waves and to turn across the face of the wave and actually ride it. Shortboards and Fish shapes are significantly smaller, and are nearly impossible to learn to paddle and catch waves with. They are made for performance surfing where you need something shorter to turn sharply and thrash with, but they cant be paddled in on smaller waves and ridden straight, they simply dont float enough at low speeds. Short boards depend on speed for them to plane across the water, so if you buy a short board you will have to learn to surf on big powerful waves, going fast, with not nearly as much wiggle room with your footing. GO WITH A LONG BOARD!

Technine JSLV Collab Snowboard

Technine JSLV Collab Snowboard

Rating for this product: 4 February 17, 2013

After breaking last years model, technine warrantied it and sent me this one for free. Today was my first day on it and its the same amazing park/jib board as the last one. super buttery flex but still has tons of pop with the carbon stringers. Surprisingly lively and responsive ride for a softer jib oriented deck. Took it off some 30's and 40's today and it was fine, not squirely at all. Very predictable and tons of fun. Only reason it receives four stars is because the model from last year snapped in half after putting about 20 days on it, but so far so good with this one!

ThirtyTwo JP Walker Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 23, 2013

Super good right out of the box, virtually no break in time, and EXTREMELY LIGHT WEIGHT. Great support behind your calf but extremely tweakable going forwards and side to side. Perfect boot if you want to shred park or street, yet it still has the support to hit jumps and haul ass on groomers. Its the perfect boot, in my honest opinion.

when they are fresh out of the box, they flex nicely and are pretty comfy, but they arent the most durable. Ive broken the heel cup on them and prior to that ive found tons of cracks through the plastic to cap. As far as durability goes, they pretty much suck. Sorry flux.

BEST BOARD EVER TIL IT SNAPPED

Technine JSLV Collab Snowboard

Technine JSLV Collab Snowboard

Rating for this product: 2 January 14, 2013

This is what i thought the first 3 months :Seriously my favorite board I've ever ridden in my entire life, and I've ridden dozens of decks. If they made these with a sintered base, there would literally be no reason not to ride one. Soft enough to press through kinks with ease, yet stable enough to throw cork 7s and haul ass on east coast groomers, and still forgiving enough to learn whatever trick you want at whatever speed you want. Literally THE BEST PARK/JIB/STREET/CRUISING ALL MOUNTAIN SLAYING board on this planet, and probably better than other planets boards too.

After riding this board for 3 months, I noticed the core creaking and making popping sounds. Next came the spider web cracks all throughout the top sheet, and finally the board snapped in half hitting a gap to boardslide. This boards durability is pathetic, I mean seriously, focusing a snowboard after 3 months is pathetic. Step it up technine before you lose even more customers.

SUPERbrand Clay Marzo's FF SUPERmadness 2 Surfboard

SUPERbrand Clay Marzo's FF SUPERmadness 2 Surfboard

Rating for this product: 4 August 4, 2012

Mostly surfing Charleston SC I have knee high mush day to day, with occasional swells getting head high. This thing is the bomb for groveling through the mushy waves. Has a decent amount of foam to paddle into weaker waves, thinner rails for a more responsive feel, and although its a wider board, it has a nice rounded out tail, giving you more control turning and making powerful turns easier. Future 5 fin set up is the best, hands down. In my own opinion, Futures have a more sturdy fin box than fcs, and I've never had a problem with Futures. Superbrand also has super sick airbrush designs, I have yet to see an ugly Superbrand board.

Surftech Mark Richards Flying Fish Surfboard

Surftech Mark Richards Flying Fish Surfboard

Rating for this product: 3 August 4, 2012

this board is super long and skinny for a fish, and rides nothing like a fish. It turns like a fun board, has more stability with thrusters instead of a two fin fish set up. I don't like the way it rides on rail and its too much of a log for my liking. Plus epoxy is a wreck to fix, expensive and looks ugly when fixed.

Thunder Polished Truck

Thunder Polished Truck

Rating for this product: 5 December 18, 2011

i have skated practically every truck on the market, and these are by far the best. they have the most comfortable and natural turning radius, while staying stable at speeds. They Grind very smooth, and they are also very light for being the basic truck. the only downside to thunders is that the king pin sits flush with the hanger, so it is easier to grind it down, but you are very unlikely to have problems with that.

Rating for this product: 5 December 4, 2011

Ive been snowboarding for a few years now, and I've ridden a lot of boards. my first snowboard ever was a 2007 stairmaster. every year i would buy a new board, ride it until the beginning of january, and then sell it and just go back to my stair master. these boards are amazing, and after finally deciding to just buy another stair master, i have yet to be disappointed. I've only gotten to ride a few rails and a street gap on this board this year, and let me tell you, IT IS PERFECT!

this board is perfect for park. its basically a camber (no real reverse camber at all, its a camber/flat hybrid) soft park board. you can always grind or dull your edges wherever you want with minimal effort, as usual. this is comparable to a capita stair master or a salomon drift, its a very soft camber board that can butter around, press rails, and is very forgiving, but still has a lot of pop, good stability, and can handle all of the mountain, unlike other park boards. hope i helped!

you tie a rope to anything that is sturdy, say a tree. you then clip one end of the bungee to the rope, and the other end of the bungee to the handle. simply buy your friends beer for the night, or bribe them in some way to grab the handle, and run and stretch the bungee out to you, as you are waiting, strapped into your board. you then grab the handle, and once they let go, the bungee will sling you at up to 35 miles an hour at the tree, at which you let go, turn around the tree, and hit the wall ride, gap, rail, or jump you found that didn't have enough natural speed.

Boardworks Hynson BK Quad Surfboard

Boardworks Hynson BK Quad Surfboard

Rating for this product: 5 September 26, 2011

this board is perfect for the surfer who can paddle and catch waves on a long board, but wants to ride a short board and learn more technical tricks. being a fish shape, it is a lot thicker, and is also wider throughout the board, giving it a lot more foam than a short board, letting you paddle faster and making it easier to float and catch waves, while the length is significantly shorter than a long board or a fun board, letting you experiment with tricks, and opening a lot more doors to possibilities with your surfing. personally, this board is great for everyone and anyone who wants to invest in a quality surfboard that will let them progress.

Rating for this product: 4 September 26, 2011

THE BAD:these are a little bulky, with a lot of material in the ankle area that gets bent up when they flex. they run a little slim, and are some what hard to get into for me (i have a taller, wider foot; i can only wear 32 and dc).

THE GOOD: very nice quality materials, great stitching and sole. pretty light. great looking. great liner, with a great liner lacing system. very good heel hold, and very comfortable.

Alien Workshop OG Logo Skate Deck

Alien Workshop OG Logo Skate Deck

Rating for this product: 2 September 26, 2011

very poppy, and fun to skate, but I'm 0 for 3 on having an alien workshop deck last over 5 days before it snaps.

it could just be my bad luck, but this brand seems to snap faster than you can grip and set them up.

mystery/black box decks in general

Mystery Heart Skate Deck

Mystery Heart Skate Deck

Rating for this product: 4 September 26, 2011

very lively, poppy decks. super stiff, and retain shape very well. great shape, and good maneuverability. the only downside i have experienced is that because black box decks are so stiff (so they retain shape and life) they tend to be a little easier to break.

personally, black box skate decks (zero, slave, mystery) are super stiff, lively, well shaped boards that are as close to perfect as 7 ply wood decks go.

habitat decks in general

Habitat Postage Redux Skate Deck

Habitat Postage Redux Skate Deck

Rating for this product: 3 September 26, 2011

always a very comfortable, practical shape. great pop at first, and are hard to break. i love them except for how soft they are. every habitat board I've ever owned has had the middle and the nose and the tail all flatten out, and it basically "dies" after 2 or 3 weeks of skating. habitats are great if you get new decks at least every month, or if your a smaller/lighter person; but if you want something that is stiff and holds its shape, you need to try something else.

Lobster The Jibbaord Snowboard

September 19, 2011

it depends on your stance width, but its very unlikely that you could ride this without toe drag.

also, TBT has nothing to do with the width of the board, and won't let you ride bigger boots. TBT is just the shape of the core and the base.

Habitat Lark Skate Shoe - Men's

Habitat Lark Skate Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 18, 2011

this shoe is insanely comfortably, super supportive, and very durable. it has just as great of board feel as the lakai manchester selects, yet 100 times more durable, a lot lighter, and significantly more stable. i love mine.

Rome Artifact Rocker Snowboard

September 18, 2011

i would for sure go for the 144 if i were you! if your riding rails and 30 foot jumps than a 144 is perfect. the rocker will also make it feel a little longer when your carving to the park, and the short size will make a huge difference in the maneuverability that you need to ride jibs. i weigh 210 and I'm 5'11" and i only ride a 150 and i hit 40's on it.

best for skating, not for durability

Lakai Manchester Skate Shoe - Men's

Lakai Manchester Skate Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 September 18, 2011

these are some of the best skate shoes ever. they are super comfy, have a really grippy sole, a great shape, and the laces are perfectly placed for minimal wear. On the down side, the olly spot will get worn out super fast, and your shoes will be trashed after about a month of hard skating.

Technine Bradshaw Pro Boomstick Snowboard

September 5, 2011

I absolutelly hate rocker boards. i can never land tricks on them and they just feel too unstable and dead under my feet. I have never ridden a flat board, but i want to give it a try. would this be a good board to try? or should i look for something else. I ride all midwest street and park.

DC Cabo Flip Flop - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 8, 2011

ive had mine for 5 years, and they are by far my favorite sandal ive ever owned. they form to my foot, and they never chafe my feet. ive put at least 1000+ days on these and they are still in perfect shape besides usual sole wear and the logo on the side peeling a bit, but its all good.

i know that forum has apperently true to size fit, but i have a wider taller foot. does this boot have a wider and taller toe box or is it a narrower boot. like compared to a dc boot.

i wear a dc 9.5 superpark and it fit best now after 2 seasons of wear and tear...should i get a 9.5 or a 10?

Salomon Snowboards Drift Snowboard

Salomon Snowboards Drift Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2011

this board is sereously the shit. end of story. its soft enough to press and butter, yet has some good ol' camber to allow you to pop and give you stability on landings. also, its a pretty light board, which is an aspect often left out in making the decision on buying a board. this board is perfect for the guy that does it all, and this board will defenatelly help you learn and perfect your tricks.

Technine Lucas Magoon Pro Snowboard Binding

May 26, 2011

get some union bindings, technine bindings break wayyyyy too easily if you ride street (ironic, isnt it). and shakas have too many moving parts that could break.

the simpler it is, the less parts there are to break!
