You can use the mic on the phone though and listen through the audio in the hemlet. At least you don't have to remove your goggles and helmet. All you gotta do is take ou the phone and talk into it. I did this the last two years with my pro-tec helmet. Worked great.

Waterproofing was great for me, no issues on a deep powder day. for 0-5 degree weather though you probably want a gore-tex or other beathable thermal base layer.

I bought some thin breatheable pants for 15 bucks and with these pants over them I felt light, unrestricted, and warm. It was 20's on the hill and I was fine.
