If your board has the standard 3D inset pattern that Burton used for the last decade or so, you should be OK this binding is compatible with 4 hold and 3 hole patterns.
If your board uses the ICS channel system instead of the 3D insets, you're totally screwed, because you can only use Burton EST bindings on these boards.

I'm about your size (a bit heavier) and usually ride between 160w and 164w.

The 09/10 Hero was 8x2 inserts so you won't need to get the retro-discs to mount these binders on the board.
If you mean you have a 10/11 hero, you'll need to get the retro discs which run about $20 because this year's hero runs the infinite channel system (ICS).

Jeebus people... if you have wide feet and you know it, get to a store and TRY ON THE BOOTS for god's sake. You're asking for trouble if you buy a pair of boots without ever trying them on.
Or, just buy them and if they don't fit send them back. DF has a very liberal return/exchange policy.

Technine Nines Snowboard Binding
April 23, 2010
My guess is that the fiberglass composite on the Cartel is lighter than whatever T9 puts in to the Nines. But whatever, it's not like the nines are going to outweigh the cartels by 3 pounds or something. Whatever difference in weight between the Cartels and the Nines is going to be negligible, and it is NOT going to affect your riding.
If you're still concerned, why don't you use the Chat feature here and ask one of the reps?

Women can use "men's" binding, but be aware that men's bindings often have a taller highback which sometimes leads to uncomfortable calf-bite.
Also be careful with the sizes: The only sizes left are for men's boot sizes 8-10 (M) and 10-12 (L) so unless you have a really big foot, like a women's size 10+ you probably can't use these, they'll be too big.

You *might* want to order 1/2 size up. I usually wear a 10.5/11 depending on brand, and I'm wearing 11s in my ThirtyTwo TM2 boots; they fit just right after having them heat molded. My last pair of 32s was the same way. Check out the reviews on the TM2 boot for some info about how they fit & breaking them in.
I'm riding Burton Cartels, i think similar enough binding technology. The newer 32s fit really well in the burton bindings. These boots have very similar (probably identical) toe shape. Here's a picture of mine locked into the bindings. they fit great.

January 8, 2010
lol my friend is still riding a Fat Bob that he picked up when he was living in Denver 6 years ago...
I've been riding a Legacy for a few years, they used to make it in "wide" and regular, but now they only make one Legacy-R designated as "mid-wide". I wear a smaller boot than you but I ride 0/0 stance. On either of these boards, the Titan or the Legacy-R you should be OK if you ride a more conventional stance (18/-15 etc.).
Actually the Legacy-R is slightly wider at the waist than the Titan TX. Might want to look into it, it's a pretty solid board all around.

Burton Supermodel Snowboard
January 2, 2010
sometimes people refer to the snowboard size as "62" instead of "162".
A 162 is waaaaay too big for 145 lbs. I think a 155-156 would be better for his size but not too small that he'll grow out of it soon.
One other consideration, is that the Supermodel is more of a big mountain board, and your son is *probably* more interested in park riding since there is no big mountain, backcountry, off-piste to be found in your neck of the woods (I'm in Detroit, so slopes and conditions are very similar).
Check out the selection of "freestyle" snowboards; they'll be better-suited to his needs.

Depends on your stance angle(s). It also depends somewhat on the boot. But since most size 11s are going to be similar (although older boots tend to be bigger in my experience) this is a lesser concern.
I wish everyone who had a "Will I get a lot of toe drag?" type question would include thes very relevant informations. So, edit your question, let me know what is your stance angle and also what type of boot you're rocking, and you'll get a better answer.
I wear an 11 boot on 26.5cm waist board, and there's practically zero overhang. But I also ride a 0/0 stance. So your mileage may vary.

Gnu Park Pickle BTX Snowboard
December 22, 2009
The 159cm is all that's left, but this length should be OK for 220 lbs. I'm a few inches taller than that, about 210 and I ride a 163 for what that's worth.
