you could even go down to a 147 and you would be fine, but if you would rather go for the 150 than that should be fine aswell. just depends if your more of a jibber or a all mountain guy. as for your jump question it will totally be fine on that size for jumps.

It will for sure fit. I rode size 8 boots on my old dom grom 38, and the waist width was a bit smaller. It will deffs fit 7.5, even an 8 with no toe or heel hang.
