Gnu Park Pickle PTX Snowboard - Women's

Gnu Park Pickle PTX Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 November 16, 2012

I rode this board a few times, and I dig it. I can tell it's different on the heelside because it's asymmetrical but I got used to it fast. It is REALLY fun to cruise and turn with, and I had no problems ollieing onto rails and off rollers. It is SOFT. That's not a bad thing though, I love doing nosepresses. I don't think it's as poppy as I'd like, but it's do-able. If you're thinking of this board, I say get it!

Roxy Ollie Pop C2 BTX Snowboard - Women's

Roxy Ollie Pop C2 BTX Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 November 16, 2012

There is a reason that I have consistently rode the Ollie Pop for four years now... it's hard to leave this board! Ollies are effortless on this thing (duh, it is called the ollie pop) and I love how I can bomb down hills and the board won't chatter. I also love laying down deep carves when I'm just riding around and having fun. I trust this board to go everywhere; park, powder, trees, cliffs... it has not disappointed me. Everytime I ride it, I swear my smile radiates in a 200 mile radius. SO STOKED ON THIS BOARD!

Roxy Rockferry Goggle - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 24, 2012

I LOVE THESE GOGGLES. The fit and shape is very, very similar to Dragon Rogue, and the lens are GREAT. I have rode in overcast conditions and I was able to see everything fine. Same lens on sunny days too.... it's perfect. They give me the protection I need from the sun and allow me to see on overcast days, without changing the lens! No fogging, no wind, and I can see everywhere fine... I have crazy peripheral vision and these goggles do not obstruct. They also fit my Smith Maze helmet just fine.

Fun fun fun

Roxy Ally BTX Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 24, 2012

This board has a loose ride, feels kinda like surfing. It would be GREAT in powder, I can tell... unfortunately we had a shit winter last year and the rare powder day we did get, I was riding a different board.

The only complaint I have about this board is that because it's a banana and no C2, if I hit a big tube rail, the board would sometimes feel like it's gonna slip out from under me. That's only if I 50-50 it though.... boardslide is good. On a normal rail, it's fine. Otherwise, it rides great everywhere. Jumps, groomers, you name it. I would definitely recommend this board for powder and backcountry... just can tell it's gonna be a boatload of fun there... but it's fun at ski resorts too. I really love it. This would be a great board to learn on as well. Highly recommended.

This board is similar to the GNU B-Street, but a little wider.

Amazeballs!

Roxy Eminence C2 BTX Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 24, 2012

LOVE THIS BOARD SO MUCH! Where has this board been all my life? Right... Roxy. I totally thought this board was going to be really stiff since it is Torah Bright's model and she's a pipe rider. Boy, was I wrong, and am I glad I was wrong. I couldn't believe how flexible it was. The tech specs on here says it's a 6 out of 10, 10 being stiffest. That's about right. I thought it was going to be more like a 9 or even 10.

This board is an ALL MOUNTAIN SLAYER! I have rode it everywhere... powder, park, cruising, straightlining steeps... it performs beautifully everywhere. The C2 helps keeps the board stable when I bomb, and also helps me to lock on rails without feeling like my board is going to slip out from underneath me. I can press fine too, it's fun to butter around with. Overall, I'm just really, really stoked on this board. This just might replace my usual Ollie Pop... get this board!!!!!! You won't be disappointed!

photo of my method was taken by mark cohen. If you're regular and pop a method, the "roxy" will be right side up

Cappel Bankrobber Pant - Men's

October 23, 2012

it doesn't snow in colorado, there aren't blizzards and if you're wearing these pants chances are you're in the keystone park with a goofy looking hoodie over your oversized helmet (probably with a beanie and a ball cap with the bill flipped up for added steeze) snow pants wont keep you warm, riding will and not standing at the top of the park will...

These pants are awesome! They're probably the best fitting and most flattering pants Roxy offers. They're a slim fit and they remind me of Holden. I'm 5'2 and size 5 with junk in the trunk and a small fits beautifully. They are WARM! I got my Torah bright pants back in March so I was able to ride some powder in em and they were just wonderful in keeping my bum toasty warm. I'd definitely recommend these pants!

Roxy Team Snowboard Binding - Women's

Roxy Team Snowboard Binding - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 October 19, 2011

Well.... First off, I LOVE how super lightweight they are and how comfortable the straps are!  Those get five stars for sure.

Now.... These bindings still have forward lean even if it's set at 0.  Someone didn't design these right and the highbacks don't go back all the way.  The forward lean isn't subtle either- IT'S REALLY THERE.  I HATE IT.  I feel like I am in such an awkward position whenever I spin or even turn heelside.  Don't despair though.  THERE IS A FIX!

When you look at the forward lean adjuster, you will see two prongs sticking out below it.  Those prongs are hitting the heelcup so the highbacks aren't able to go back all the way.  SAW THOSE BITCHES OFF.  DIE DIE DIE.  Once I sawed the prongs off, I could immediately see a difference.  The highbacks are now able to go back further into the heelcup and -gasp- they look like they are straight up!  Could it be??  No more stupid forward lean??  I haven't rode since I sawed the bindings, but I will be sure to update my review once I do.

Another thing- SUPER NARROW.  Your boots will be stuck and you have to karate kick after you unstrap to get out of the bindings.  It's pretty funny.

EDIT - After sawing off those two prongs on the highbacks and riding them a whole season, I now love them. The old boots I had in my last review were the Nike Zoom Force 1, those are bulky boots. I got new K2 Contour boots, and they are much more slim. They fit perfect in these bindings and my boots don't get stuck anymore.

Unfortunately the K2 Contour boots are super smooth, so I had another problem. My toe straps slip all the time. It's ridiculous. Even when tightened to the max, they still slip. I cut up a bicycle tube and super glued pieces on the underside of the toe strap and it seems to help. These bindings are pretty good, but they do need a little tweaking to be perfect like I mentioned above.

FIERCE

Smith Maze Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 June 29, 2010

I have the Black Supernova and let me tell ya, this shit is fierce. I love that it has a picture of my dog on the back howling. Okay, I guess it's a wolf, but it looks exactly like my dog.

I agree with the other review that the goggle clip does suck ass, so I've started wearing a beanie and goggle under my helmet and I've had no issues. I did remove the padding inside to make the fit perfect with the beanie. I have Dragon Rogue goggles and as you can see in the picture, they fit PERFECT with the Maze. FYI, my Maze is a size Small.

I've bonked my head a few times with this thing, and I haven't gone retarded (yet) so it does its job!

New review for the 2009 Cilla top

Cilla June Pullover - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 21, 2010

I got a new 2009 Cilla top, my other review has me wearing the 2008 one. My 2008 top is a medium and fits perfect, but the 2009 in medium... is HUGE! I should had gotten a small... crap. The only issue is when I ride powder, sometimes it sprays up into the inside of my top. But it's so cute and I love the blue, so I just deal with it... plus it's a nice way to cool down if I get warm haaa. It's a bit long since it's so big, but no biggie, my jacket covers up the black part well. it also matches my shop hoodie which is a plus!

LOVE LOVE LOVE

Cilla June Pullover - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 8, 2010

This top RULES! I have put at least 180 days on this top last season (out of 250), and 60 days (out of 80) so far this year, and it's held up GREAT! Just be careful not to let your snowboard rub against the hip when carrying it! It is so freakishly warm, I wore just this top and a puffy jacket when it was -25F and I was totally fine! It's also great on the warmer days with a thin jacket (but not like 50F and over days, I'm sure) It's a wee bit pricey, but after all those days (and millions of washes), I say it's worth it!!!! Definitely would buy another one!

I'm not really sure what I'm doing in that picture I attached, but you can see the Cilla top I'm rockin!

Dragon Rogue Goggle - Polarized

Dragon Rogue Goggle - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2010

Yikes... $170, I know, I know. I was lucky enough to win a pair of these goggles, and gave them to my boyfriend. He really really likes the lens a lot and they're great for sunny days and partly cloudy days (those days where the clouds blow by and sometimes block the sun over and over) They're not too great for overcast days though, but a shop hooked us up and gave us yellow and rose lenses and the vision is much better now.

The lens aren't mirrored if you guys are worried about that. I can sometimes see my boyfriend's eyes through the lens, but not always.

ThirtyTwo Lashed Fast Track Snowboard Boot - Women's

ThirtyTwo Lashed Fast Track Snowboard Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2010

I LOVE 32 LASHED!! Only thing though is they don't really last a long time if you ride aggressively and ride more than 50 days a winter... I got 250 days last year and went through 2 pairs of these boots. The first pair I got was in my regular shoe size, a 7. Those only lasted maybe 40 days, but they were so comfortable and the flex was perfect. Then for my second pair, I went down to 6.5 and got them heat molded. The fit was FANTASTIC after that, and this time, they lasted longer than 40 days. I wanna say 70 days so far, maybe?? They could still work, but I want a new pair because I love the pink... hahaha. SO BRIGHT in person!! I think this time I will go to a size 6 and get them heat molded again... maybe they will last even longer in that smaller size. The size 7 I had packed out pretty quick, so I'm sure going smaller would help with that issue. But other than that, super comfy and my feet were always warm (provided I wore the right socks for that day). My feet also never got wet, even when hiking in waist deep powder.

Gnu B-Nice BTX Series Snowboard - Women's

January 19, 2010

It shouldn't mess it up, but I never tune my board and it's still super grippy! It probably wouldn't hurt to ask the shop guy though. I think the magne traction is actually a little too grabby, so I got mine detuned and it still holds a carve well and cuts through the choppy powder (that was a problem before, it was trying to grab the choppy snow when I didn't want it to... now it's so much better)

Rome Madison Snowboard Binding - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 28, 2009

LOOOOVE these bindings so much... I demoed them at the On Snow demo back in Feb 2009 and cried when I had to give them back at the end of the day. Super comfortable and I love the toe straps, they fit toes perfectly no matter what kind of boots you have. I was going to pick up some new bindings to finally replace my 2006 madison (they have seriously over 300 days!!) and was gonna get these, but I think I'll wait til next year instead since my 2006 Madisons are still holding up great!! These bindings take a beating and won't die!

Oh forgot to mention, the ankle straps are super cushy!

And... my boyfriend used to talk so much shit on Rome bindings, until he finally tried out Rome 390s... needless to say, he shut up and loves them to death now haha :)

Volcom Atmosphere Tech Wool Sock - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 December 28, 2009

Love them, they're pretty warm and fit really well. I wear 7 in shoes and got the XS/S. However, because they are wool, they're starting to rub off in areas where my feet rub against my boots when I ride. I think I only wore these socks for 20 days riding maybe?? I definitely wouldn't wear these on a super super cold day, I have another pair of thicker Volcom socks for that :)

sooo RAD! they stay really warm and are pretty funny looking! However, the liners that come with them look like something that Mr Garrison's sex slave from South Park would wear, so I ditched those and got $1 magic gloves to wear underneath instead for those cold days. Holden is the new sexiness

Holden Standard Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 28, 2009

Dope pants... but these are basically a shell so you need either a really good base layer or layer up underneath for those super cold days. I only needed to double up when the wind chill outside was -25F!! Otherwise, one base layer and I'm warm even when it's 10 degrees out.

I'm 5'2 and 115-120 lbs, have the medium and they're loose. If I squeeze my butt cheeks, I can slide the pants off without unbuttoning them. Yeah, I know, hot. I like the fit though, a small would probably fit better but I'm worried it'll be a little tight when I try to double up on the base layers.

These pants have also never gotten wet, and I attached a picture, hopefully it gives an idea of how they fit. They're stretchy which helps! They look like they're pretty tight around the knees, but they're not. Yeah, it surprised me!

Forum Spinster CHILLYDOG

Forum Spinster Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 28, 2009

I demoed a Forum Spinster Chillydog (rockered version of this board) and I was blown away. I heard nothing about Forum and wasn't expecting it to be so great, but this board was one of the best boards I demoed out of all the other ones I tried that day. It's soft, has loads of pop, and is just so much fun in the park. It's pressy and can hold its own when bombing down. Definitely a board that I can use for everything... that's pretty much what I look for in a board. Now, this board is the Chillydog version, so I don't know how different it rides from this regular one, but hopefully this helps out. If you're like me and basically want a soft board that you can press and still ride fast, jump, park, powder, etc etc, this board is one of those.

K2 Va Va Voom Rocker Snowboard - Women's

December 21, 2009

the Va Va Voom has a longer effective edge; what this means is that the 148 rides like a 153 (k2 says you can drop up to 5cm from what you normally ride for the VVV) if the 150 works fine for you, then there should be no issues with the 148. the 148 maxes out at 170lb as well. but if you want an all-around board, look into k2 duchess or k2 fling. the VVV is more of a jib board (which is why it's wider and has that longer effective edge) but it's surprisingly stable when bombing down hills. but honestly i find the fling or duchess better for all around riding, and more fun!!

the rocker is more catch-free than this one. it's also noticeable when spinning on boxes, and what i love about it is that when i come off a box too early on the side, the board just butters off and onto the snow.

how much do you weigh?? weight matters more than height. 143 sounds about right but i need to know weight to know for sure.

Ride Compact Snowboard - Women's

Ride Compact Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 23, 2009

I won this snowboard at a video premiere and finally got the chance to ride it yesterday... first impression? LOVE IT. It's crazy light thanks to the slimewalls sidewalls and membrain topsheet, there is seriously no swing weight when I spin onto rails. It's also super stable at high speeds and doesn't feel as "grabby" as my GNU B-Street in the snow. Don't get me wrong, it still holds its edge really well, I rode it over ice and it didn't fail me. As for pressability, right out of the packaging, it's stiffer than my B-Street, but I'm sure it will soften up over time. This was my first time I ever rode a Ride and I'm sold! Love it! Also love the lowrize rocker! It's not like an OBVIOUS rocker, but it's there, and I like it. I will definitely be riding this board more :D

Never Summer Pandora-R Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 September 9, 2009

I rode this in Feb at the On Snow demo and loved it. The reverse camber gives the board a very playful feel when turning and riding. It's soft, but not as soft as say, a Gnu B-Street. I'm sure it'll become softer the more you ride it though. I would definitely ride this board everywhere with confidence; in the park, trees, steeps... etc

Easy to spin on boxes too! I liked it off jumps as well =)

Sure! Any board can be a powder board if you can ride. I rode a 145 Gnu BStreet (soft rail board) in powder, hahaha. If you ride a smaller board for your size (like say, more for the park), it might require more work but it can be done.

Dragon Rogue Goggle

Dragon Rogue Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 July 10, 2009

I slangled some lift tikcets and got some cash to buy these at a shop at the beginning at the season, and these gogs ROCK! Over 200 days on them and I only got one little itty bitty scratch on them from a tree branch (my bad, nothing to do with Dragon's quality). They NEVER fogged, even when I was snowboarding on 4th of July in Breck. They fit my face really really well, and I have crazy peripheral vision, and the sides are out fat enough that it doesn't interfere... love em! Gonna get another pair!

Oh yeah, helments! I had a Bern Muse, they fit so-so because the part of the helmet that touches the goggles have too much of a curve. They fit perfect with my RED Mutiny helmet and my Capix Dynasty!

Ehh, the Pandora isn't as soft as DakkaGuru make it sound like it is... honestly, I LOVE the 2010 Pandora with the rocker, it rode so AWESOME, but if it were softer, I'd definitely be all over it. It's possible it could get softer if you rode it more, but it's not terribly stiff out of the packaging. It is pretty playful and does ride the entire mountain fine, you can't go wrong with the Pandora.

Rome Detail Snowboard - Women's

May 12, 2009

Hey, I demoed the 2010 Detail and it wasn't great outside the park... would be perfect if you were a straight up park girl (like 100% in the park), but there are definitely better boards that will do both park and freeriding out there. However if it's a really small resort, like in Missouri or something, lol then it will be fine. K2 Fling will probably suit you better, that board handled everything great when I rode it. It won't chatter when you lay down those extreme euro carves and holds an edge well and is playful in the park at the same time. The Fling comes in 138 at the smallest size and a 142. You can't go wrong with either size. Hope this helps!!

Got these for my boyfriend for Xmas. He loves em and they seem really durable. I also like the padding in the feet. Only thing is that I thought the lime green ones would be bright lime green but it's more of a yellow green. I should had gotten the blue ones, damn it. Also, I'd say get a bigger size if you have muscular calves. The threading looks like it would rip in the middle when said muscular calves sported those socks.

DAMN I love this board!!!! I have the 144, and usually smaller boards chatter when I go fast but not this one. Very smooth and comfortable ride and oh my gosh, it's so smooth off jumps. The harshmallow basically absorbs vibration and chatters, so it's just smooth and comfy. Get bindings and boots with harshmallow and you could drop 100ft cliffs and be fine. Also a perfect board for those who don't wanna buy a board for free riding and another board for park, I use it for both and it rocks!
