On the snow I am riding a 2012/2013 Never Summer SL 158 with 2013 Burton Mission bindings all while rocking 2013 Burton Moto boots. Love my setup and definitely looking to experiment with other boards this year at demos. Already got around to riding the Bataleon Jam and Goliath. I've been shredding for a total of around four years and prefer all mountain freestyle boards over anything else. My style is probably more leaning towards charging down black diamonds with ridiculous edging and turns.

In the wake I am riding a 2012 Hyperlite State with Hyperlite Remix bindings. I'm still a beginner in this area as I don't get to wakeboard as much as I want. Goal for next year is progressing in jumping wake and riding switch

First Iron

DAKINE Adjustable Tuning Iron - USA

DAKINE Adjustable Tuning Iron - USA

Rating for this product: 4 January 10, 2013

Overall this iron will get the job done and server as a nice replacement for whatever non wax approved iron you are using. It heats incredibly quickly to the temperature that you need to melt your wax. I generally stick just under 100F. I'd estimate it takes 10 seconds to get there. Backing it down to a lower temperature is just as fast surprisingly.

I'd say the only thing that I don't care for on this iron is that it scratches very easily. I already have scratches on it after a few uses from the base edge of the board. I would still highly recommend it as it pulls the wax evenly across your board.

Tuning Must Have

Burton Tuning Vises

Burton Tuning Vises

Rating for this product: 5 January 10, 2013

This vices are a must have for your tuning needs. I have not used anything else but I can't imagine tuning without these. The suction cups hold your board in place as you are waxing and cleaning while the seated position holds your board firmly in place when you are taking care of your edges.

The one down side that I see about these is that it is mostly heavy plastic but as long as you take care of them they will take care of you and likely last the rest of your snowboarding life.

Great Post-Wax Brush

OneBallJay Nylon Brush

OneBallJay Nylon Brush

Rating for this product: 5 January 10, 2013

This is a awesome brush to use when you are done waxing and buffing. I use this brush from tip to tail to pull out the last of the remaining wax that I scraped. You can clearly see small channels down your board that will send you ripping down the hill at will.

Perfect Pre-Wax Tool

OneBallJay Brass Brush

OneBallJay Brass Brush

Rating for this product: 5 January 10, 2013

This brush is perfect for removing the old wax from your board. I use this every time in place of a base cleaner to pull out any old contaminated wax. The wood base is shaped to ergonomically work with your hand. Easy to clean as well.

Decent kit

DAKINE Quick Tune Tuning Kit

DAKINE Quick Tune Tuning Kit

Rating for this product: 4 January 10, 2013

Overall this is a decent kit and covers most of the needs you need for tuning. I love the torque driver as it has all the bits that I need for my board and bindings. The scuff pad you will use and throw away after a few applications but that is to be expected.

I was a little disappointed at the scraped. I was hoping it had an edge scraper on one of the points but it did not. Nothing that a little modification can take care of though.

The edging tool is great. Its basic and easy to use all while getting those sharp edge (either 90 degrees or 88 degrees) that you need.

Good Stuff

DAKINE Nitrous Cake Wax - 6oz

DAKINE Nitrous Cake Wax - 6oz

Rating for this product: 5 January 10, 2013

This is a an overall great wax. You can definitely tell you increase your overall speed when you are using this wax. I wax my board after every use and I would say that even after a whole day of riding groomers you can still see parts where the wax is holding.

The wax is easy to melt on and scrape off (granted you don't OD it) and it even smells awesome.
