I'm never good explaining my story in a paragraph, but to keep it simple- I love snowboarding. Most of my large life decisions have been made with snowboarding in mind- where to go to school, where to live, where to work, and even where I take my "vacations." (Vacations, to me, mean road trips or summer escapes)

Airblaster Hoodless Ninja Suit - Men's

Airblaster Hoodless Ninja Suit - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 8, 2013

Wish I could have picked this up earlier this season, but, the best thing about this suit is that I could still wear it for the warm end of the season, and I have no doubts that it will keep me warm on most days midseason as well. Ever have a problem with snow goin' down the crack in your back? How about a lack of wrist gaiters on that sweet jacket you have? This guy will solve both those problems! I also have a mop of long, flowing Fabio hair that I would prefer not to restrict with a traditional ninja hood, so this eliminates that, as well as cuts off a little extra material on the bottom that is always covered by my socks anyway.
I'm a skinny 130, and about 5'11'', and got the medium, which fits me pretty well.

Lib Technologies Burtner's Box Scratcher BTX Snowboard

April 10, 2013

It depends on the size you're shooting for... A bigger board will be stable on bigger jumps with this guy. Just remember that this board is totally reverse camber, so when hitting jumps of that size you really have to land square on both feet, or you're gonna wash out. I wouldn't take this off anything bigger than a 50 footer, and in all honesty, I would probably look into a different board for jumps. Consider the T.Rice, Attack Banana, or TRS boards, and if you're set on reverse, check out the Banana Magic as well.

Solid Brain Bucket

Bern Macon Hard Hat with Knit Liner

Bern Macon Hard Hat with Knit Liner

Rating for this product: 5 March 13, 2013

This is the second Bern helmet I've owned, and they are great. My old one was the Watts, with the brim. The only reason I replaced it was because I left it in the rear dash of my car for a month in 110 degree heat, and it melted. Whoops. I decided it was time to ditch the brim this time around. I got a Large, and I have about a 7 1/4 size noggin in fitted hats, but keep in mind, I wear beanies or baseball hats under my helmet. It fits great with either one, and is super comfortable. Love Bern helmets!

Burton Kit Wallet

February 27, 2013

Its about 3.5 in. tall, 2.5 in. wide, and just under an inch deep when closed. If your utensil is around 3 in. long and about as thick as your thumb, it should fit well. Hope that helps!

Sweet

DAKINE Stance Driver

DAKINE Stance Driver

Rating for this product: 5 February 14, 2013

Its a sweet, basic tool with 6 bits stored in the handle. Simple, easy, basic tool. Oh but what's this? There's a measuring tape in the handle? Genius addition. Its simple enough to be added without noticing, but, wow, it's convenient. Unless you ski. Then you probably won't care. But it's nice to have a measuring tape when I'm always setting up new boards, especially when its conveniently located right on the screwdriver I'm using.

Pretty Sick

Volcom V-Bird Gore-Tex Pant - Men's

Volcom V-Bird Gore-Tex Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 26, 2012

Got these pants cuz I wanted a slimmer pant that doesn't lose waterproofing after a season and a half- not the most common thing to find. Most pants with a good fit are only around 10K, from what I've found, except a few. We'll see how these last, but I expect GORE to last for years.
Anyway, I'm pretty stoked on these so far. They fit well, not super skinny, but still slim. I'm about 5'11 and 130 (yep, pretty small) and I got the smalls, and my only complaint is that they could be a little longer, but I've givin up looking for pants long enough that dont fall off my waist. Also, the vents are a little odd- they are angled over the knees, but, I mean, they serve they're purpose well. The snaps on the ankles have bent a little in my bindings, but they still work well- nothing to worry about. FInally, they're not insulated really at all, (more of a shell) but nothing some good layering cant fix.
Despite those complaints, I'm actually pretty pumped on these- all those compaints are pretty minor. Like I said they fit well, they're super waterproof, (for now, and hopefully for years to come) and they're simply designed- the main things I look for in good snowpants!

Capita UltraFear FK Snowboard

Capita UltraFear FK Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 December 17, 2012

Rode this board for a couple months this summer, and I will say I'm impressed. I rode the 147 which is admittidly small, but damn fun. It was a great park board, but I had tons of fun just cruising around Hood and hopping over whatever I could. I used to be pretty skeptical of how well Capitas held up, but even with slamming it on rocks, rails, and the like, I didn't see anything go wrong with it. Capita has definately figured something out with they're camber, too- flat from the outside of the inserts, reverse from there out. Rides and pops like a flat board, playful like a reverse, all while stil feeling stable when you need it. Pick one up if you can!
