Homeschool Art Hag Lounger Pant - Men's

Homeschool Art Hag Lounger Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 1, 2012

amazing warmth and breathability. These are somewhere between and baselayer and a fleece midlayer. They are toasty and super breathable. If you have homeschool outerwear or do a lot of touring the homeschool baselayer and midlayer stuff works better than anything i've ever used. Homeschool is by far the most breathable snowboard stuff I've ever used. I highly recommend it so you don't get wet from the inside out.

Rivals Patagonia

Homeschool Airbreather II Crew - Men's

Homeschool Airbreather II Crew - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 1, 2012

After years of relying on patagonia capalene and north face fleece Homeschool has developed a baselayer that is just as warm and far more breathable. The fabric is made of Cocona which breathes awesome. I love these.

The Best Out there

Homeschool Transmission Pant - Men's

Homeschool Transmission Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 1, 2012

A typical day in my life includes snowmobiling to an area and then splitboarding to the top of a mountain. This requires a pant that can handle the stress snowmobiles put on it (constant freezing and defrosting, running boards that are like cheese graters on the bottom cuffs, crotches that won't rip out when lifting out a sled). It can also handle the challenges of touring (flexibility, breathability, relaxed fit). These are the best pants I've ever owned. They were built for the elements and they were built to lasts. Like the Anvil jacket their waterproof rating is actually 20k and their fit runs a bit on the large side...bottom line, these are the best pants out there. Support a quality independent company. You won't regret buying these pants.

Alpinist Quality, Snowboard Fit

Homeschool Anvil Jacket - Men's

Homeschool Anvil Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 1, 2012

I've been snowboarding for 19 years and have always struggled to find outerwear that meets my demands. I spend over 150 days on the snow in a typical season, many of those being on a snowmobile. This is the only outerwear that I've ever owned that not only meets, but far exceeds my expectations. It is as waterproof as gore-tex, far more breathable than gore-tex, and is more durable than anything I've ever owned. I expect to have this jacket for at least 3 to 4 seasons. I've put this jacket through hell and it keeps on running. If you can afford it...Buy this jacket. If you're looking for something a little cheaper look at the nightwitch II pullover. It's the same quality but about $60 cheaper. Also, the waterproof rating on this jacket is 20k, not 15 as advertised. The one thing about Homeschool outerwear that is a little tricky is their sizes. I usually wore XL outerwear but it seems the Homeschool stuff runs a bit bigger so I downsized to Large with their outerwear. Also, the zippers are heavy duty but a little stickier at first, they loosen up though. Their baselayer and midlayer seems to run true though....Bottom line, if you can afford it, BUY THIS JACKET....you will not regret it.

Buy old Cartels, not the Re:flex

Burton Cartel Re:Flex Snowboard Binding

Burton Cartel Re:Flex Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 2 March 19, 2012

This review is conducted on the premise of the Re:Flex system. The pre Re:Flex Cartels are amazing bindings. I was expecting a step up from them. Instead I got a colossal failure. There are several major flaws to this binding. The first is what "tastercakes" described. The baseplate do not turn perpendicular to the edges like other 4x4 baseplates. You can only mount them to shift from heel to toe, they are not able to be turned 90 degrees and shifted from nose to tail...so stance options are minimal. Also, the flex pattern is very odd. The front of the binding is very stiff because there is a strip of metal running running in front of the hinged baseplate, completely compromising the whole theory behind the Re:Flex system. However, on the heelside of the baseplate there is no metal rod, so on a toeside turn the heel of the binding will actually lift upwards of an inch off the board, making it about as useful as riding without a heel strap on a normal binding. Also, the gap created when doing a toeside turn creates the perfect gap for powder to get caked in there. On almost every pow run I'll get to the bottom and feel like i'm wearing high heels snowboarding, then have to take the time to dig out all the snow. The bottom line is: Burton took a perfectly good binding and destroyed it when they created the Re:Flex system. My advice, go on craigslist or ebay and buy some old Cartels with the solid baseplate and heel cup.

Bond Compound Pant - Men's

Bond Compound Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 30, 2009

I rode these pants last year with bonds national jacket. These pants are amazing! I rode them over 100 days last year and they stayed waterproof, and best of all, the bottoms didn't rip or fray out. Get these pants!

Amazing

Bond National Jacket - Men's

Bond National Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 30, 2009

This jacket is amazing. It's only lightly insulated so you have to wear a layer or 2 under it but the 20,000 mm waterproofing is some of the best I've ever used. I rode a sample version from a shop all year last year and it was durable and the waterproofing lasted all year. I'm confident this jacket will keep me dry for 2 to 3 seasons. This is hands down one of the best jackets i've ever had.
