i want to give longboarding a shot cuz next winter is too far...

i want to give longboarding a shot cuz next winter is too far away (even with timberline in the summer)...this a decent board for a first timer?...probly wont see too many hills, just long open spaces (trails, beaches, whatever)

This is a perfectly fine board for starters. but the thing that would make it even better for trails or sidewalks, is great bearings. Do a little research on some good bearings then add them to the board for better useage
