Might seem like a stupid question, but is it just a shell or a full jacket? Is it insulated at all or you need a fleece when it's cold?

its just a shell...it seems like it has a some insulation though. Ya i would suggest putting on another layer or 2

its a nylon coated shell u might want to throw on a under layer
