Can anyone tell me why these gloves have 2 drawstrings? I know...

Can anyone tell me why these gloves have 2 drawstrings? I know one of them you pull to lock out the snow, that's the one with the locking piece of plastic, but what is the point of the other drawstring with a large piece of plastic only.

that's just to loosen the other drawstring so you don't have to mess with pushing a little button on the pull tight drawstring - it's actually quite convenient..
