ive read a review claiming the waterproofness is not as rated. reviewer said the fabric became damp and did not shed moisture. agree?

tnx for your reply, ryan. i have a pair of 686 smarty cargos thats been used for a few seasons, and the lining is disintergrating (perhaps i didnt read the how to care for instructions :<). got the smarty jacket too, and its doing the same thing. prolly will shy away from that brand for now. fingers crossed for these pants tho.

False, its a 3 Layer pant that will definitely, definitely repel the moisture. The last thing you will have to worry about is water getting in. Maybe after a few seasons you will lose the DWR coating on the outside (but that is normal -- you can apply a new one) ... you will never lose the performance in the fabric as its built into the material, its not a DWR coating placed on top of the fabric that can wear off.
