And when you're wearing a wetsuit, rather than run the risk of the neoprene bunching up on certain wrist movements and accidentally twisting the crown knob (exposing the inner guts of the watch to seawater), or inadvertently stopping the chrono (very bad if you're measuring ascent time, or time underwater), everything is on the left side of the watch. Harder to set, but much safer to use while diving or surfing in the long run.
