Gum soles have better grip, you will not see/feel a drastic change but it will increase board feel and gripp slightly.

Gum soles have the tendency to be softer then the conventional rubber sole. There are pros and cons to this. The pro is better board feel, softer landings, and better grip with the gum. The standard rubber sole will last longer, but really, the suede will blow out before the sole, any day.
